TIA
I could not believe my ears when I overheard their conversation. It was scarcely doubtful for me to believe it if someone else had told me this. But I was hearing all this with my own damn ears. My dad was trading me for a stupid business deal. No matter how much of a crude bastard my father is, he had always loved me wholeheartedly. How could he do this to me? Surely that woman, Marie had convinced dad to offer me as a batter to that forty-year-old rich businessman, such that he would not break his ties with my father.
"So the deal is done! My little sister would be married to you." Derek's pinching voice was heard by me, as I stood behind the door of our hall. Dad sat quietly there, as the old man said, "Let me hear it from your father, Derek..."
Dad then nodded and said, "Yes, Chester! Tia is yours, from now on...we just have to be done with the formalities of the marriage, and she will be officially yours."
And with that, I could not control my tears anymore, as silent tears trailed down my cheeks. I missed my mom, if she would have been here, then she would never have let this happen. She would have let my father barter me in exchange of a stupid business deal.
I inhaled a deep breath, or I should say I tried to avoid my breathlessness. My breaths were getting shorter and I couldn't interpret how I was going to save myself from falling prey to this mother-son duo who were hellbent to make me marry to that old jerk. I don't know what had happened to my father's conscience, and why was he getting convinced with them.
I didn't realize that I had broken a glass vase at the corner by accidentally colliding with it, and made my presence noticeable to them.
"Oh, Tia... please come here..." That b***h of my step mother called out my name with her venomous voice, trying to sound sweet. I wanted to snap back at her, but all I could do was to go to the hall, where all of them were sitting.
"I must say my future bride is like an angel." The i***t said with a cheeky grin.
I ignored every person sitting their, and went straight to my dad, who was sitting with my step mom.
"Dad I want to talk to you." I said, trying hard to hide my short breaths and maintaining my calm.
"We can talk after a while!" He said as he forced a smile and looked at me.
"No! I want to talk to you, right f*****g now!" My voice was a but louder this time.
"You should know how to talk to your elders... and I guess every person here is elder to you." My step mother said sternly.
"I am not talking to you!" I snapped back at her.
"Tia! Go to your room, I will talk to you later." Dad told me, and without waiting for another word, I went straight to my room, trying to hide the tears that were flowing continuously from my eyes.
And, I decided to run away from that cage of my house. I could not tolerate my step mother and her son to rule my life by taking decisions for me.
