ARSAL
The day when that waitress made me realize that I should respect Ruhani's decision, was the last day when I had tried to defeat Arjun in that silent battle. I will leave the decision to Ruhani. Even though I had tried to contact Ruhani multiple, she never accepted my cal or replied to my message. Maybe she does not want me anymore. I have started to focus on spreading my business here, in spite of planning to defeat Arjun Goenka.

I was sitting with Roy, discussing the new project proposal he has to share with me. I had got to know that Roy was Rohit Goenka actually, Arjun Goenka's paternal cousin. I am now a good friend of his. We had clearly talked about everything we needed to talk about. After the auction, it was very clear to me that Ruhani loved Arjun with all her heart. Although I love her, I can not force my love upon her. She has every right to be the happiest woman in the world. Arjun is a lucky bastard that he understood how precious she is and treated her right from the very beginning. It was me who was a jerk not to understand her worth and kept on hurting her always.
I have backed off now from my motive to get her back. I will only visit India for business deals from now on.
As we were done with the project details, Roy's cell phone rang, and he looked tensed after hearing whatever was there on the other side. I have always seen him calm and composed. It was rare for him to get tensed. He handles every situation, even if it is someone's murder, with calmness on his face. I tried to ask him, but he dialed some number immediately after he cut the call.
"Ruhani, where are you?" He asked quickly.
Is it something related to Ruhani? By now, I am aware that Roy considers Ruhani as his little sister. No doubt he is worried when it is something that is concerned with her.
"What the f**k is going on?" He yelled on the call. It was making me worried too.
"I need to go and save her, but my presence there can let everyone know that Ruhani is something to me, it will put her life in danger." He blurted out while he moved his hand through his hair strands in frustration.
"I will go," I announced, and in another minute, I was in my car yelling at my driver to drive fast.
I
did not wait for my car to stop as I threw my side of the door open and hit the ground running. I heard the rest of the cars coming to a stop behind but I did not glance back to see my and Roy's men coming out of the vehicles and already surrounding the area, looking for any signs of danger.
There was already a crowd forming around the place, as I got closer to the car in which I assume Ruhani was, I realized that it was upside down. But the people were starting to step back as the police officers cautioned them.
"f**k!" I growled under my breath as I charged through the crowd, noticing the cracked windows.
I pushed forwards, and some of the onlookers were still standing, watching as if it was one of their daily soap tragedies.
But, one look at my face and people started parting, giving me space to pass by them.
"Move" Talha yelled from behind me.
Even though he never liked Ruhani in person, he was here, with me, to save her.
As I made my way straight to the car, I realized how f*****g hard my heart was beating and my blood seemed to burn.
One of the young-looking police officer came to stand in front of me, stopping me in my way, "Sir, you can't go near. The ambulance is on the way."
"Do you even know who the f**k I am?" I growled, just ready to tear him apart if he did not move out of my way in the next second.
Before he could say anything, another officer murmured to him, "This is not a regular accident. It is a very high profile case." And pulled him back.
As I stepped forward, one of the onlookers shouted, "I don't think you should go, the car is probably leaking gas, it could..."
I did not bother to listen to the rest of the s**t he wanted to say, the only thing that mattered to me was inside the car.
Reaching the car, I crouched down and looked inside, for a moment everything froze around me and inside me, as I watched her prone body lying on the roof at an odd angle. No movement made me guess that she was unconscious. And that person from the crowd was right, the car was leaking gas.
"Arsal," Talha said from behind me.
I ignored him and tried the handle, knowing it won't budge considering that the door was slightly oblique from the middle. One glance at the driver told me that he was dead.
"Ruhani!" I punched the window. But it didn't even crack.
"Let us try, sir." Two of my men stood on either side of me.
"Too much force and she'd be showered with broken glass." I gritted out, as I was already out of patience.
"Sir, here..." I looked up and found the police officer who had stopped me earlier. He gestured at the back window.
There was a small crack back there. Without a thought, I inserted my fist and then flattened my hand on the other side to push the broken glass out. Shards of glasses fell down on my feet as I cleared more space. When only jagged edges were left, I pulled my suit jacket from my body and was midway inside when Talha said, "Arsal, let me, you will hurt yourself."
"She is f*****g bleeding and you want me to care about if I got a few scratches?" I snapped at him, even though I knew he was caring for me but right now, all I could think was to get her out of here.
I reached inside, cutting my arms in the process, but still, it was not enough.
"Ruhani..." I called out.
"Rehan's mommy, come on..." My fingers touched hers and I gave a squeeze and a pull. Just wake up a little. Damn it. In the past, it was always her who used to address me as 'Rehan's daddy', and I never considered her emotions and replied to her in a similar way. But today, I want her to be the mother of my kids, when she is here, fighting with death. I wish I was not a bastard to her and treated her that way.
And she heard me. She f*****g heard me when I addressed her as 'Rehan's mommy'. Her fingers moved, curling around mine like a child. I felt her trembling fingers on my wrist.
"Yes, closer,..." The car shook as she slid closer. And then a whimper left her soft lips.
"Here, wrap it around your head," I said as I thrust my jacket in her direction.
She tried to wrap it around her head, but only with one hand.
"Sir, hurry!" One man from behind said.
I did not have time to look at what had the men behind me tense, but I could guess a hazard.
"Just keep your head low and put the pressure on your leg...just like that...yes..." When she was close enough that I could grab her arms, I pulled her, but at the same time, someone grabbed me from behind and half pulled me away from the car.
Looking over my shoulder, I yelled at Talha, "What the f**k do you think you are doing?"
"Sorry, buddy. I can't watch you die. The car is just seconds away from blowing up..." AS he trailed off, the crowd let out a collective gasp. Talha looked up and cursed, "The front is already catching fire!"
"Get. Off. Me." I hissed out giving him a warning look.
I scrambled back towards her, putting my elbows on the glass pieces. But all my focus was on the woman who was looking at me through her pain-filled eyes.
"Go a-away..." She whispered, trying to free her hand from my grasp.
"Not a chance in hell. You may not love me now, but I love you from everything inside me..." And with that, I grabbed her under the arms and pulled her out. I ignored her muffled scream and the broken glass digging into the side of my torso from all sides.
With her secure in my hold, I slid back, and then Talha pulled us backward. I did not lose my hold on her as my men and the police officers almost lifted me from the floor and away from the car. Looking around, I realized that the police had already cleared the area and now the fire department and ambulance had arrived. But my main concern was the woman in my arms.
"Doctor..."
"Here," Talha directed me toward the ambulance. "Let them check her." He prompted when I did not put her down.
I laid her down on the bed inside.
"Sir, you need medical assistance too." One of the medical staff said.
I looked down at my body and saw that almost half of my shirt was covered in blood and was torn apart in places where the glass had cut, and my arms and torso were a bloody mess.
"I am fine. Check on her." I ordered them.
"Her family is here, they will take care of her, you come with me." Talha did not wait for my reply as he dragged me towards another ambulance.
While being dragged by my friend, I saw Ruhani's parents standing in panic near her ambulance. There were many other people whom I suppose were her in-laws.
I watched her face until it disappeared and I was made to sit in the ambulance as doctors initiated dressing my wounds. While the medicos were dressing me, my eyes landed on a familiar pair of caramel-colored eyes. Those eyes were already gazing at me, and they darted like they were pained looking at my injured body. I could not see who was the owner of those caramel eyes, because the girl was hiding behind a police car. But I was sure that I had seen it here somewhere, but where?
When I tried to look in her direction, she might have noticed that I was looking at her, but she backed off and disappeared somewhere.
