Chapter 12“This is strangely awkward,” Benjamin said as he smiled nervously at Eric while tapping his index finger on the rim of his teacup. Eric grinned, but Benjamin noticed that it was rather strained. “Maybe a little.” Benjamin snorted. “An understatement.” Eric abruptly burst out laughing. “Okay. Yeah. You’re right.” After that, the two of them were quiet as they almost simultaneously lifted their teacups and sipped on the lavender tea. Benjamin took the opportunity to glance around the diner. He was relieved that he and Eric were the only occupants inside the diner. The souls had already departed to the underworld, and that included David. Benjamin couldn’t deny that he had been less than gentle in his treatment of David when he handed the man over to Catrina, but the petty and b
