The perfect weekend

Deacon’s P.O.V

I had checked I had everything for what felt like the tenth time this morning and I have only been awake for two hours. I don’t know what was wrong with me this morning I am not usually this thoroughly with things, you would think we were going away for months and out of country, not only a weekend

“Babe are you OK? You seem on edge this morning?” I hear Hallie’s voice come from behind, her arms wrap around me from behind too

“I am fine.” I said looking over my shoulder at her

“You sure my love?” she asked

I turned around to face her, pulling her close to me, holding her against my body. I placed one hand on her hip, the other in her hair and reached in, pressing a soft kiss against her lips. The woman stills drives me crazy after a year. I was still trying to get my head around that we have been together a year. Before Hallie I could manage a night…maybe a weekend at push with a woman and now here I am in a committed relationship with the love of my life and going off to celebrate our one year anniversary. It was still mind boggling at time but I wouldn’t change a thing no matter how hard it was at the start for us. She was worth it all, would fight the world for her if I had too.

“I am fine. I want the weekend to be perfect that is all.” I smiled

“It will be baby.” She said snaking her arms around my neck

“I know. It is always perfect with you my love.” I said

Hallie smiled widely at me, reaching in to steal another kiss “I love you.” She whispered

“I love you too baby.” I said

For someone who was once scared of those three words I tell Hallie multiple times a day that I love her cause I want and need her to know that. I know she still worries sometimes about us, scared in case I leave her. I understand where she comes from with that but I would never, that is why I always tell her I love her. I only want her…want us and honestly being without her? I think that would kill me.

“We should probably get on the road.” I smiled

“Yes let’s go. I am excited for our weekend away.” She said excited

She is too cute when she gets all excited.

“We have a busy weekend ahead of us baby.” I smirked

“Busy? I thought we were only relaxing this weekend?” she pouted

“We will be doing that too but busy as the same time. You planned the last time we were there…my turn now.” I winked

Hallie stuck her tongue out at me, giggling before kissing me once more and we made a move. It would be strange going back Greenport the place it all began without either of us realising it was beginning but this weekend was gonna mean so much more, a weekend neither of us will ever forget…hopefully.

“You wanna stop somewhere for breakfast and coffee first my love?” I asked

“Yes sounds good.” She smiled

The two of us headed to my car, throwing everything in the boot before getting on the road, finding somewhere to stop for breakfast. Hallie thought we were staying at the hotel we stayed at for my birthday, we were not though. I had rented us a beach house for the weekend. Somewhere it can only be us with amazing views.

I reached over, taking Hallie’s hand in mine as we drove. I lifted it to my lips, kissing her knuckles softly

“I love Hallie.” I said

“I love you too baby.” She said smiling back at me, giving my hand a squeeze

We had been on the road for a little while, we would be arriving soon. The journey has been mostly silent but a comfortable silence, the two of us enjoying just being together, plus Hallie fell asleep too.

“Deacon I think you are going the wrong way. The hotel is the opposite way.” Hallie laughed

“I may have left a little bit of information out about our weekend.” I smirked, looking at her out the corner of my eyes

“Deacon what have you done?” she giggled

“You will see soon. You will love it…promise.” I said giving her knee a squeeze

“You are lucky I love you enough to trust you to know what I love and don’t love.” She said

“Just as well uh?” I chuckled

I could see her curiosity as we continued driving, trying to work out where we were going. I was amused by the full thing which earned me a glare or two. We soon approached where the beach was, finding the house I had rented. I knew exactly the one I was looking for, there was only four houses along the part of the beach where I had rented us but apparently they mostly empty at this time of year, most people go on vacation somewhere else which meant we would have nearly the place to ourselves cause where the house was, the part of the beach was private, only for owners or renters of the houses. It was gonna be perfect…bliss.

“Here is our home for the weekend baby.” I smiled as we pulled up outside

“Oh My God, you rented us a house on beach?” she said jumping up and down on the seat

“Yes. We have the beach to ourselves baby, the other houses are empty at the moment, owners away on vacation so we have a part of the beach only for us.” I said smiling proudly

“You are the best boyfriend ever.” She squealed, reaching over to kiss me

“Only the best for my girl.” I winked at her

“You are amazing. I love you.” She said kissing me again

“I love you too. Now come on, we can get the bag in a bit I wanna show you the house.” I said excited too

I have seen photos of the house, of the view and I knew she was gonna love it too. Hallie nodded, quickly getting out of the car. The owner had left a set of keys in a safe for us, giving me the code to get into them. By the time I got out the car Hallie was standing at the front door, eager to get inside. I chuckled joining her, getting the keys and letting us in

“Oh wow! This place is amazing…beautiful.” Hallie gushed as she stepped into the living room that looked right onto the ocean

It was beautiful, looked even better than what it did in the photos, the photos never gave it justice. I went up behind Hallie, wrapping my arms around her and she leant in against me

“I thought you would love Hallie.” I said kissing her shoulders softly

“It is perfect Deacon. I want a house like this one day, right on the beach. Not sure as a permanent thing or just a summer house but would love one.” She gushed

“Maybe one day we can get one baby.” I said kissing her neck

Hallie looked round at me, the most beautiful smile on her lips and nodded her head.

“This weekend is gonna be perfect I can feel it.” She said completely relaxed and content

“That is will be my love…that it will be.” I whispered in her ear

And it was gonna be, I would make sure of that. Seeing her happy makes me happy and that is what I wanna do make her happy every day if I can. I nuzzled her neck, holding her against me. Hallie reached up, placing a sweet kiss on my lips. The two us enjoying the view, enjoying the moment until we were ready to make a move.
