“You are quite late today, sire.” He froze, one foot inside the window of his room and other hanging on the other side in midair. “James.” He addressed his guard as casually as he could in this situation. But James sat inside the room on a chair at the bedside calmly flipping through the pages of some new book he must have grabbed on like he could still read it in the utter darkness.
