Blurb

Heartbroken, almost dead, she vanished completely from their lives, leaving everything behind her. There was nothing for her except heartbreak and betrayal. But she swore to come back and show them who she really is.

She built a whole new world for her and came back with a bang, startling everyone, especially her family, and her second chance mate, Alpha Nathan Grant, who broke her worse than anyone else.

She refused to even glance at him when they met again. Her coldness and ruthlessness stunned everyone but it also made Alpha Nathan Grant to pursue her again. He was hell-bent to make her fall for him again while she avoided him like plague.

What fate had stored for them as their future? Will they be together as they should be, or will someone else will give her the world that she deserves?

Who Is Stronger
Summer’s P.O.V. “Can’t you stay for Pearl’s mating ceremony? She is your sister after all,” my mother asked me once again when I closed my bag after packing my stuff. “Yeah… she is my sister…. The sister who is going to mate my fated mate just because she thinks that she deserves the best,” I answered her in a mocking tone, a gaze filled with mockery and disdain. “Summer,” she said with a sigh, making me cringe my nose in frustration. “You are getting her wrong, honey. It’s not, Pearl… it’s William who wants her,” my mother defended Pearl once again in the same way she always defended her. “But Pearl could refuse his request. She …. She knew that I was his fated mate,” I screamed while moving towards her. I came back to the pack yesterday after finishing my final exams of graduation after five years. William, the pack's future beta, recognized me as his mate but rejected me before I could even realize it. It was already hard to accept that once again I was denied what truly belonged to me because of Pearl, and my mother’s persuasion made it worse for me. “You all talked about fated mate bond that it's a blessing from the Moon Goddess and your fated mate is your half soul, but what you did in the end. You supported the one who denied this, and my own sister snatched my half soul without any remorse. It's not my fault that she didn't find her mate, but why I am the one to pay for that?” I continued screaming at her while crying. She wanted to open her mouth to say something but I had enough of her. “I wish no one….. no one in this pack ever… ever… find his or her fated mate… so that no one can go through the pain of rejection,” I said in a loud tone, making her eyes go wide. I picked up my bag from the bed and stormed out of the room. I scoffed internally in pain when she didn't even try to stop me. I stopped in my tracks on the stairs when I saw Pearl and William looking at me. They were in the living room. The door of my room was opened and I knew that they heard what I said. It didn’t matter to me at all. I continued going down and walked towards the exit. “Summer,” I stopped in my tracks once again when William called me. I glanced behind me over my shoulder. You are not the mate that I want for myself, but Pearl is. You know better than all of us how better she is than you. You shouldn’t hold a grudge against her or your family,” he said in a stiff tone, making me scoff. “Yeah… you are absolutely right. Very soon, you will know how better she is than me. Congratulations on getting the mate that you wanted. About the grudge…. This is for me to decide… It’s none of your business,” I answered him in a sassy tone filled with hatred. “Mind your tongue, Summer…. I am still the future beta of this pack,” he snarled, making me drop my bag on the ground, and I moved towards him. Pearl was now standing behind me, looking at me with a fearful gaze. Pearl and I were twin sisters. She is five minutes older than me. The only advantage that she had over me was that she was more beautiful than me. We had similar faces but not exactly are same. I was always better than her in everything but my mother always manipulated things for her so that she could get the praise that I deserved. I endured this partiality all my life, but William’s rejection took the worst out of me. “You are no beta to me, William. You are one pathetic mutt who is drowned in the external beauty of a she-wolf who is not your fated mate. You… (I walked towards him while looking straight into his eyes)… you not only rejected me, but you disrespected The Moon Goddess’s decision,” I replied to him, making him growl in anger, but it didn’t faze me. “I am happy that you rejected me because I also don’t want a pathetic mutt like you as my mate. I Summer Holt, The member of The Blood Moon Pack, accept your rejection, and sever all the bonds with you, William Grant,” I announced while holding my chin high. He immediately clutched his chest and fell to the ground. “William,” Pearl screamed, trying to hold him by his shoulders. He slowly raised his head towards me, looking with tearful eyes filled with pain. The pain of rejection hit me once again, but I stood my ground. I felt every snap of remaining of the remaining mate bond inside me, but I didn’t let myself fall this time. I leaned slightly on my waist while looking at him coldly. “ Now tell me, William, who is weak... you or me? I am still standing and you are lying on the ground," I mocked him. He had now tears in his eyes and was struggling to breathe. "I wish you a good and happy life with your chosen mate,” I mocked him again, and spun on my heels without bothering about what would happen to him. The pain in my chest was unbearable to me, but I endured it. They all took me as a weak wolf, but I was stronger, and I needed to show it to everyone now. I took my bag from the ground and pulled it on my back. William screamed in pain once again, and I heard Pearl’s sobbing, but my heart was now completely of stone. I stopped in my tracks when I saw Adam, the future alpha of my pack, and a brother figure standing outside on the porch. My father was a head warrior, and he had a good reputation in this pack. Tears filled my eyes this time. We were not biological siblings, but I shared a stronger sibling bond with him than my bond with Pearl. He came forward and hugged me, and I hugged him back without thinking anything. I sobbed aloud while hiding my face inside his chest, muffling my voice. He didn’t say a word but dragged my body with him towards his car. He took my bag from my hand and opened the door of the passenger’s seat for me. After putting me on the passenger’s seat, he closed the door, and I closed my eyes. I heard the opening of the door one more time but didn’t open my eyes. The pain intensified and I felt some beads of sweat on my forehead. “You can scream now, Summer,” he whispered to me after some time. Without even thinking, I screamed aloud while clutching my chest. He immediately stopped the car, and the next second, I was once again in his embrace. “Ssshhhhh…. Everything will be okay… you did the right thing…. He doesn’t deserve you,” Adam comforted me while rubbing my shoulder. I could feel him giving his strength to me through the pack bond. William was his best friend, but he was with me. I was glad that he was with me. “Why me, Adam? Why me?” I asked him while breathing heavily. Tears were now streaming down my eyes. “Everything will be okay, sis…. Everything will be okay,” he continued comforting me, and I cried my heart out in his embrace. We were in a secluded area at the border post. My mother wanted a son, but she got me. I heard her tell Pearl once that she wanted me to abort but couldn’t because of Pearl. She wanted a daughter and a son. She loved Pearl because she was the firstborn and was more beautiful than me. It wasn’t like she abused me, but she never gave that much care to Pearl. During all my life, I shadowed Pearl only to get one compliment from my mother. Was I wrong? Was it me who asked her to give birth to me? Was it my fault that she didn’t get a son? Why have I had to endure all the pain all these years? “Dad talked to Alpha Nathan Grant, and he agreed to give you a job in the operation department in his company. Your resume is good enough and his PA has already sent you the appointment letter to your mail,” he told me while releasing me from his embrace. He gave me a tissue to clean my face. “Here is the key to my apartment there. I will transfer the property in a few days to you,” he continued and I looked at him with gratitude while cleaning my face. “Thanks, Adam…. Thanks a lot,” I thanked him while taking hiccups. “Ha… we are almost the same age, Summer, but you are my baby sister. You know very well that I love you so much. I.. I couldn’t help you when …. When William rejected you, it didn’t mean that I could stand this. He is my best friend, but he has no right to,” he paused when I squeezed his hand. He was now fuming in anger. “It’s okay, bro… He is not worthy of me,” I tried to comfort him, rubbing his arm. He growled while moving his face away in the other direction. There was silence in the car for a few minutes. Both of us had our agonies, and the silence gave us time to calm ourselves down.
