The rest of the day is pretty uneventful. Cardan doesn't come back to the hospital, not that he needs to for him to completely consume my thoughts. After the close of work,I decide to walk home. The wind teases my skirt as I make my way down the streets, and even though I'm exhausted from the day's work, I am able to admire the serenity. It's a cool quiet evening, and the pack looks gorgeous at this time of the day. I am admiring the scenery when I spot a black car approaching from a distance. The black Range Rover comes to a halt beside me,and it takes forever before the driver gets out, goes around the car and opens the back seat. I am not surprised when Cardan steps out.
" Get in...let me drop you off," he opens the back door even wider, as he gestures at it.
