Chapter 2: This is Just Great

Flashback

"Mine" he said so I did the only logical thing... I ran.

My breathing picked up as I sprinted through the school parking lot. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing but I do know that I don't want a mate, especially not now. I saw my car picking up speed being stopped suddenly at a strong arm around my waist. "Slow down sweetheart no need to rush" a smooth voice spoke in my ear. "Mine" he growled making me jerk myself away from him.

"I'm not an object and not interested" I snapped ignoring the longing feeling to be back in his arms. "I wasn't really asking for permission you're mine no matter if you like that or not" he replied making me scoff great I got an entitled one. All male wolves thing that just because some moon goddess deemed us to be together we have no choice in the matter. "You're right I'm sorry what is your name?" I smiled forcing back my smirk. "Nathan Anderson Hill" he said curiously, it was tradition to fully identify yourself when meeting your mate which worked out for me.

"Ok we'll I Skylar Ann Pierce reject Nathan Ander-" I started cut off by the shivers ran up my spine from the mind-blowing kiss he pulled me into. I was to in shock to pull back and I almost started to forget why I was fighting this in the first place. He pulled away slowly letting me catch my breath and snap out of it. He was the first to speak his voice low as he whispered in my ear, "don't ever finish that sentence princess". His lips barely touched my ear making me force away from him. “ No promises” I shot back smirking as I slipped away and into my car.

"What the hell Skylar! Go back” Snow yelled through my mind but I cut her off. I've done possessive and entitled I'm not getting myself into a situation like that ever again. I sped home glad that my mother wasn't home she left a note saying that she would be back around 6 and that we had been invited to eat at the pack house tonight.

The doorbell rang making my heart jump involuntarily at the thought that it was Nathan. I walked slowly towards the door peeking out the window to see nobody. I opened the door looking around seeing a bouquet of daisies. Picking it up my eyes caught a small not reading, “See you soon love. That was fast, I wasn't sure how he got to the store and here moments after i got home but I decided I didn't care.

It was only 8 so I had a while to spare before I needed to get ready for dinner I walked around the house for a while realizing I didn't finish my tour before falling asleep yesterday. The kitchen was a nice size though personally I didn't think the pantry was big enough for all the snacks I wanted. I hopped down on the couch bouncing a little at the plushness. I flipped through the TV channels getting bored and slowly falling asleep.

I woke up a little after 2 and watched TV before I went to get ready for dinner, I didn't have many clothes since the moving truck won't arrive until later tonight. I probably should dress up a little seeing as how we're having dinner with the leaders of our new pack. I flipped through the few articles of clothing I had before finding a nice yellow dress shirt I could wear with my black jeans.

“Sky I'm home you almost ready to go?" My mother called making me pause from fixing my makeup. "Yeah give me one minute”I yelled giving myself a once over before slipping on sandals and hurrying down the stairs. "I figured we could walk over it's not that far from here”my mom suggested grabbing her purse.

I agreed and we headed on over Snow prancing in my head for god knows why. “So anything interesting happen at school today” she asked making conversation. I opened and closed my mouth a few times before shaking my head. “Uh nope nothing really, just a normal day” I nodded deciding I wasn't in the mood to hear her obnoxious judgment if she knew I turned down my mate today. “So, what do you know about the new Alpha?” I asked changing the subject.

“He's young. His parents died in a pack war a few years back. I heard he's stern but welcoming hopefully not overbearing" she replied making me scoff with a nod.

“Please behave here I don't need you making a scene” she scolded making me gasp. “I have no idea what you're talking about”I denied making her give me a printed look.

“Really? You're gonna deny your 'I need to show how much of a badass I am' mentality" she demanded making me pause in my step for a second. “Mmm that's fair I guess” I shrugged continuing to walk seeing the large pack house just up ahead.

As we approached the door the same smell from this morning filled my nose making me gasp lowly. Why was he here? My mom nocked softly and noise came from inside before the door swung open. "Ahh you two must be the Pierce ladies come on in" an older man invited dressed in a fancy suit that would typically be worn by a butler.

My heart picked up as we moved further into the house Snow practically jumping in my head as my eyes came in contact with the same electric blue eyes from this morning. "This is Alpha Nathan he will be occupying you two for dinner " the older man spoke making my stomach lurch. Alpha Nathan, well this is just fantastic.
