Chapter 1

He bought a bouquet, prepared a special dinner on the rooftop of the condo where they are living now with her favorite theme. Everything is prepared, all that's left is to fetch her. He touched his chest and sighed. "This is it," he said and pulled out the ring from his pocket, "I am ready to propose now formally." he said, while a diamond ring that he had prepared for this event had fitted her again. One last time is bigger. He excitedly rode the car to fetch Adelaide at 7PM. Adelaide was patiently waiting for him in the lobby, because he was never late. She was excited. It’s not like she was waiting for a surprise. That would have been a pleasant night for them to celebrate. A happiness that they can share with them for the rest of their lives as it was their anniversary. "I'm near, honey," he said while looking at the ring and driving. “All right, take care,” she said and smiled. When suddenly… Blinding lights filled the vision of Sebastian while he was extending his hands and doing his best to avoid the truck that lost control of itself, but he was too late. It had crashed into his car, leaving him wounded and trapped in the middle. The impact was so strong. BOGSHHHHH! "Sebastian? Hello? What happened?!" She called him and started panicking because of the crashing sound. He extends his hand while his body is filled with blood. "I love you... A...de...laide..." Those were the last words Adelaide heard from Sebastian. The sound of sirens is all over the place. Adelaide was still in shock about what had happened and rushed to use the GPS to locate him and reported it to the police. With trembling hands, she dialed... "Hello, this is the GP Police Department, how may I help you?" a sweet voice came from the other side of the line. "I...I..." Adelaide cannot speak a word due to the extreme fear she is feeling right now. Fear that she might lose him forever, and praying that what she is thinking that happened is not true. "Yes, ma'am, are you okay?" the other line asked and started to get worried about her. She cried and sobbed. "I need help, I have been on a call with my boyfriend but suddenly there's a loud sound in his background," she said and clenched her fist, "I am really, really worried right now." "Alright, ma'am, you should stay where you are and keep calm. Are you in a safe location?" they asked, and they tried their best to speak. They are now tracking the location of the caller. "Y-yes... I'm in my company," she said and realized that they might be tracking her now, "Don't track me and instead send help to my boyfriend. I-I last saw him..." she said and struggled to check the GPS. "Where, ma'am?" they had focused on her and started searching for the location. She gulped. "I...it's Jade Street near the Amsterdam Hotel," she said and sat on the floor, "P-please see if he is alright," she said, and almost cannot walk because of extreme shock and anxiety. She gulped and sobbed. "Alright, please stay where you are and we will send a team now to Jade Street," she said and had locked something on the computer. The response is fast and, at the same time, there is in her location. She tried navigating her phone more while the rescuers had driven her to the location. Extreme anxiety and worry filled her heart. For every distance the car takes while going near the location, it is getting worse. What happened to him? I hope he is safe! Oh, Lord, please let him be safe! I don't know what I'd do without him in my life. Tears kept falling from her eyes because of the extreme distress she is feeling right now. She is praying with all her might for Sebastian to be safe. Trembling so hard, she saw the extremity of the situation where the pile of junk and parts of the truck, like the tire and storage unit, had been splattered all over the place. When she turned to the right side, she saw that car. His favorite color, blue. It was a Maruti Ertiga Blue, that is spacious inside, and so that when they had their child, it was easier to move around. "Oh my gosh!" she said and rushed to the scene where the ambulance and other emergency units had gathered at that same place. Her heart beats faster every second that passes, and every distance she is near. "Sebastian..." She called his name. His eyes are closed, and there is blood all over his body. His car had crashed-- like it was flattened because of the impact. The rescuers are having a hard time pulling off his body. "Sebastian!" she tried to come near him, she wanted to hold him and tell him that everything was going to be alright. That what's happening is not real. The rescuers and medical team had stopped her, all she could do was cry and rampage back there. “No, no! This is not happening!” she said when the doctor had finally stabilized her and performed some medical techniques. She cried and cried back then until everything became blurry... and the once loud environment had been silenced. She had a dream. “You know, you were really cool back there,” she said when he had started the engine, “We really have come so far.” she smiled at him. “Well, we work hard every day. Isn’t it time for us to settle down?” he asked, and Adelaide immediately blushed. “W-what are you saying?” she smiled and he got something out of his pocket. It was a box of rings. Adelaide immediately knew what it was. “A-are—” she was cut off when Sebastian had suddenly taken a peck on her lips. “Adelaide,” he called her name and took her hand, “Will you marry me?” he asked, and Adelaide did not know how to respond. “Oh my gosh!” she said and covered her mouth, “Of course, YES! YES!” she said and it was a very romantic drive inside the car. They kissed each other. Adelaide put her hand on the back of his nape and passionately kissed him when they had realized that they were in a public place and stopped. “W-when did you get the ring? I was almost by your side 24/7!” she exclaimed, and Sebastian chuckled. “Well, I wondered about it for a very long time, you know,” he winked at her, “The pearl was actually…” he paused and looked at her, anticipating his next response. “What?” she smiled like there’s no tomorrow. “Well…” Sebastian scratched the back of his head, “I dived it when I got on the business trip, and decided to put it as a decoration in the ring,” he smiled at her and Adelaide felt so touched that tears started falling in her eyes. “H–hey, are you unhappy? Why are you crying? You do not have to force yourself if you don’t want to,” he said, and started wiping her tears. “No… no,” she said, “I’m just so happy right now…” she sobbed. “Shush now, honey,” he said, “I promised to take care of you for the rest of my life,” he said, and softly brushed her hair. She felt comfortable. When they opened the door of their apartment, they put the beer on the table and they started kissing each other. Sebastian carried her in a bridal style until they had reached the bed. “I haven’t taken a bath yet,” Adelaide was uneasy, but then Sebastian had stopped her. “It’s alright,” and they continue kissing each other. He started removing her clothes and kisses her nape. She felt something bursting inside her and wanted him more. "Ahhh, Sebastian," she called his name. He smiled at her and continue playing with her chest. He slowly took it off until there is nothing left. She looked at him with those burning, passionate eyes. "I love you, Adelaide," he whispered in her ears and she felt a jolt of electricity run in her body. "I love you too, Sebastian," she answered before exploding in pleasure. It was a very passionate night they shared, and a new journey for both of them. "Where am I?" she asked and looked around. She was at the hospital. There is also a dextrose attached to her body. Adelaide felt so weak, and could barely open her eyes. "Y-you're awake," it was Sebastian's mother, Leila, who rushed towards her and held her hand. "You must be thirsty, here is water," she said and Adelaide gulped. She handed her the water which she had gulped in one go. "Thank you, Auntie," and she handed the glass of water back to her, "Where is Sebastian?" she asked, and she could feel her insides twitching, and she had expected a nice answer from her. Leila remained silent and on the verge of tears. "Where is he, Auntie?" she asked again, at that moment she knew. The deafening silence had filled the room, until they heard the son of each other and the pain coming from their hearts. "He's gone," Leila said, "The doctor said he was dead on arrival." and sobbed when she had dropped those words. She felt like her heart and life had lost her when she heard those words. Nothing is enough to describe what she is feeling right now. "N-no...!" she said and Leila came to her while crying too. She hugged her tight to prevent her from moving much and harming herself. "Please, calm down... it's bad for the baby..." Leila said and clicked the intercom to ask for assistance from the nurse. "B-baby?" she asked and felt her stomach. The founding of her heart is not enough to describe what she is feeling right now. "You are pregnant,"
