Chapter 9

1120 Words
The buses fill up and the pack gets ready to leave. Many of the stalls have emptied, lights being switched off, the early morning scent floating slowly into the air. Tired but happy the pack leaves for home. Nobody will be up early to prepare breakfast today. There will be no early morning training for warriors. It is a beautiful sunrise when they reach the pack-house and happiness flow through the air. Parents excited that their children have met mates. New mates excited to be part of the pack. The beginning of new life with the breaking of a new day. *** Trevor opens the limo door for Isobel while Radagast climbs into the other side. Isobel takes a deep breath, closing her eyes, trying to calm her nerves. Radagast takes her hand and she opens her eyes, looking up into his. “Ready to go home?” “Home?” she looks confused for a second then smiles. “Yes.” They start driving in the opposite direction of the pack-house. Holding onto her hand. “What would you like to do first when we reach home?” he asks sounding slightly nervous for the first time. “I’m not sure. What would you like to do?” “Maybe you want to rest? It has been a long evening?” “Yes I think that would be a good idea.” she smiles realizing that she is very tired when a yawn escapes. Radagast can’t help laughing, which makes her laugh. “Here, put your head on my shoulder. We have a way to go before we reach the castle. Rest. I will wake you when we get there.” He puts his arms around her, letting her rest on his shoulder. She melts into his embrace, feeling that it is right. That is where she belongs. Her nervousness is gone. He is her mate. She belonged here. The electric current flowing through him when she put her head down on his shoulder making him feel strong but protective over her. Realizing that it is not just about “Owning a set”. She is his mate. They reached the castle and she looks like an angel sleeping. Not wanting to wake her, he pulls her softly onto his lap, carrying her bridal style into the castle and to her room. Using his imagination on what he had seen tonight he changes the color of the room to look bright and happy. He does not want her waking up to gloom in the morning and running for the hills. Choosing the same color as her dress for the main theme he mixes in lighter and darker shades, adding a soft pillow or two. Not knowing what kind of nightdress she would choose, he takes a chance in conjuring a long silk dress with slits on the sides to make it more comfortable. Thin straps over her shoulders and a lace inlay over her breasts covering the top rounding of her full beautiful breasts. Her slow calm breathing showing her beauty, starting to make it difficult to remain a gentleman. He changes the color of the nightdress from ocean blue to pink realizing she is not a pink girl, he changes it to dark blue. Looking around the room to make sure he is happy that everything would be to her liking he opens the box hand hangs her new dress in front of the antique cupboard. Taking one last look at her perfect body he has to force himself to leave the room. *** “My little girl didn’t come home with us!” Frank growls “She is not a little girl anymore Frank, none of them are. Besides what happened to get them all hitched and out of our house hmm?” “I know, I know. I just didn’t think it would be...” “So sad to have them leave?” “Yes, that.” “My poor wolf. She isn’t gone you know. She has just found her love like you and I did.” “I know... but...” “No buts! Now are you going to join me for coffee on the porch or not?” Coffee on the porch after the festival has become their ritual. They spent the morning after the first festival on the same porch swing talking for hours about everything. Now it has become a tradition. “Why didn’t Circe meet her mate before Isobel?” Melissa asks Frank. “It is not an exact science my love. She might not have a mate but she will be able to choose her mate. And if he then accepts they will live happily ever after. It is all up to the moon goddess and what she decides.” “Sometimes husband I don’t understand your wolf traditions. If a witch doesn’t meet their mate they are destined to be single. Part of a coven but not with a mate. There is no such thing as choosing one. It is unheard of!” *** The sun is shining brightly through the soft blue curtains. Isobel opens her eyes, stretching then suddenly wondering where she is. She jumps out of bed realizing she is in a strange room, dressed in a nightdress she can’t remember putting on... A soft knock on the door makes her jump with fright. “Come in,” she asks more that says. “Morning miss. Master Radagast said to check if you are awake yet and to make sure you have everything you need before breakfast.” “Oh, Uhm, Sorry, I just woke up and I am not sure yet. Please, please come in.” Finally remembering where she is, but still not sure how she got into the dress, she checks the dressing table. “Master said that he didn’t know what you might need?” “Oh, that is no problem.” Isobel smiled, waving over the table all her cosmetics appeared. The young girl showed her where the bathroom is, once again not sure if Isobel preferred her things, which she did and conjured. “Your new dress is in your room miss. Master said he will meet you outside your room in an hour to show you to the dining room if that is okay?” “Please tell him that is perfect, thank you.” Feeling overwhelmed by all the miss and master and the enormous room and bathroom...Isobel still wonders how she got into the nightdress. Precisely an hour later there was a discreet knock on her door. She opens her door to a brightly smiling Radagast. “Good morning Isobel...and Mheegan. Ready for breakfast?”
