“How long do we have to stay here?” little Nataly asked. She turned her head to me and then her eyes landed on everyone who came with us one by one. “I don’t know sweetheart,” Katarina answered worriedly. She squeezed her child tighter to her chest like she was worried that she would disappear from under her nose. “It shouldn’t be too long,” My mom suddenly took the initiative to calm her. “Mom, can I talk to you for a second?” I spoke as quietly as I could. “Of course honey,” my mom answered immediately, standing and pulling me with her. “Where are you going?” Nataly caught my hand and tried to stop me, fear written all over her face. “Just over there to talk to my mom. I’ll be right back okay? Keep an eye on your mom for me and make sure she is alright. Can you do that for me?”
