As we crossed the threshold to the pack house, two things happened simultaneously.
Firstly, Lilly cried out in pain through our mind-link. She was in excruciating pain and was visibly distressed. I had never heard her make a noise like that before. She let out a howl of despair and I struggled to keep a blank face. Glancing over at Noah, I could see he was in pain too. If we had been by ourselves, I'm sure, he would have been bent over double.
