GABRIELE I open the drawer in my desk that I always keep locked and take out my favourite photo of all times. It carries the best memories of my life, which makes it hard to move on from a deeper connection with someone else. In the photo, I am standing next to the same girl in the photo I have in my bedroom, and we are right outside a circus. It was her birthday, and as much as I knew how much she was afraid of clowns, I still chose to take her to a circus show. I bought her flowers – orange tulips, because I thought they would make her day look brighter than the sun. It was my first attempt at buying flowers for a girl, and it turned out to be perfect because she loved the tulips a lot, but I never knew that she would end up getting mad at me for taking her to a circus on her twentieth
