After warrior training, there was a first aid class, where all three of the girls were again with the curious wolf. Sergei couldn't help but feel disappointed at the realization of not being mated to all three of the girls. He knew that Isabella was an amazing warrior and she'd be an awesome warrior and mate to someone. His heart swelled with the thought of having the other two girls, though. As the rest of the day wore on, Sergei didn't have classes with the triplets, they had their Luna classes and he had other standard classes. The bell rang for the end of the day and Sergei rushed home. He couldn't wait to tell his mother who he believed his mates were.
"Momma, I'm home!" he called as he opened the door. "Momma?" he called again. He cursed himself as his mother came out of the kitchen.
"S dnem rozhdeniya," Oksana called cheerily. She smiled through her bruised lips as she carried his small round cake. "It's your favorite."
Sergei smiled and kissed his mother's cheek, "Thank you, momma." He hated his father for what he did to his mother. She was innocent in all this.
"How was your day?" Oksana asked. She wanted to know if he had found his mate today.
"She's not old enough yet, momma." He knew where she was going with that question, and was happy to tell her about it.
"Oh?" Oksana was slightly surprised, "Did you speak with her?"
Sergei nodded, "Yep, we're in a few classes together. Just two, but I can't wait until their birthday."
"Their?" Oksana was curious. Does he have a male mate and didn't want his father to find out? "No, matter who it is, son. I"m sure they're pleasant and are a good person."
"Momma, what if the moon goddess gave me more than one mate?" Sergei asked as he lifted his fork into his mouth, eating the dinner his mother made for him quickly. His eyes were on the decadent cake she'd made for him.
Oksana shrugged, "I don't know, my son. I've never seen it." She turned and plated up a dish for her mate, knowing he'd be walking in the door any minute.
"Seen what?" he asked, as if he were skulking around, waiting for the right moment to come in. "Happy birthday, Sergei," he acknowledged his son's special day.
"What if the moon goddess gave me more than one mate," he stated again.
The elder man scoffed, "Two? Being a little greedy, aren't you, son?"
Sergei shook his head, "No, I'm pretty sure I have two mates." He scooped the last bite of stroganoff into his mouth and swallowed the creamy delicacy with relish. "I saw them this morning, and caught their scent, and my wolf was howling with happiness. But they aren't old enough, yet."
Adrik shook his head, "I don't believe you." He stood up from the table, tired of his son's tales. Even at eighteen years old, he lied. "The moon goddess would never bless you with anyone good." He turned to his mate, "You're just like her, weak and pathetic."
Oksana stood up, she'd had enough of Adrik's cruelness, "You will stop accusing him of being anything other than a good person. He's done nothing to you."
Adrik's anger was swift and his hand just as fast. He reached out and slapped his mate on her cheek. "You will never learn, will you?"
"That is enough!" Sergei stood from his seat. "I am done with you hitting her!" He pulled back and punched his father in the eye.
"You ignorant, selfish bastard," Adrik cursed as he lifted Sergei by the throat, squeezing him tightly.
"Stop!" Oksana cried. "He's done nothing!"
Adrik dropped Sergei, "And he never will," he spat as the young man slid to the floor. "He'll never be a man." He left the house with a slam of the door.
Oksana rushed to the crumpled Sergei, "Oh, my sweet baby boy. Are you okay? Why did you do that?"
"Because, Momma, he shouldn't do that."
Oksana smiled sadly at her son, "I just hope you don't follow in his footsteps." She wiped a stray tear from her cheek, "Now, tell me who you think your mates may be."
Segei smiled, "Two of the Boyet triplets."
His mother's eyes widened in surprise, "Oh my stars, has the moon goddess smiled on you!" She did some quick calculations. "But they are only sixteen!"
"Not yet, Momma." He corrected his mother. "And remember if it is them, they are of Alpha blood and are gifted with their wolves early."
Oksana smiled happily for her son. If this was the case, he'd be okay. She would wait for her plans until the girls came of age and they knew for sure. "We will keep this from your father, for now."
Sergei nodded, "He'll only know what we tell him."
"Now, tell me, which ones, do you think?" His mother whispered conspiratorily. The mother and son delved deep into a conversation about his day and pushed the thoughts of Adrik away for a brighter thought. She ignored the waves of pain as they washed over her, telling her that her mate was once again cheating on her.

The girls entered the alpha's quarters of the pack and tossed their bags on their beds. "What a day!" Alyona sighed. "So what do you think of the history assignment?"
Isabella and Irina shrugged, "It's more your thing and we have to be careful it doesn't look like we copied off each other."
Bella changed her clothes into a set of joggers and a tank, "Either way, I have training." She smiled as she left the room, jaunting down the hallway and out the door before their mother could find them.
Irina laughed at her sister's determination to be a warrior. She felt the same way about becoming a healer. The only difference is, her mother was more understanding of her wants.
Tatyana knocked on the girls' door before coming in. "Girls, we have to start planning your sixteenth birthday party!" She looked around the room and sighed, "She's outside, isn't she?"
Alyona and Irina nodded but remained silent. They knew how their mother was and decided it was a good time to distract her from the fact that she didn't have three girly girls. "Come on matushka, let's go look at dresses."
This made Tatyana smile, "We can always bring her later." They left the room, while Tatyana went on about the planning stage of the party. "Now, I will be inviting everyone, as this will be when your wolves come and you'll be able to find your mates." While the Luna was ecstatic that her girls were coming of age, she couldn't help but feel a little sad that they could quite possibly be leaving the nest. "Do you think we'll be able to convince your sister to wear a dress for this one?"
Ally and Reena laughed, "Matushka, do you really think that's going to happen? We'll be lucky to get her to wear make-up!"
Tatyana sighed, "You're right. Well, then it had better be at least a little feminine."
"That we can do, momma," Irina reassured her mother.
Alyona sighed, she couldn't wait until January. Irina looked at her sister, she was happy that at least one of them was looking forward to finding their mate. Irina's mind was clouded with worry. What if she wasn't good enough for him?

Sergei looked out at the night sky, "Moon goddess, I'll do anything to keep them." He heard his father come back in the door and shook his head as he heard him barge into their bedroom. He wasn't sure what was worse, the fact that his father came home dirty and had s*x with his mother, or the fact that he could hear them through the paper-thin walls. The teenager put his head under his pillow and tuned out the noises as best he could.
He sighed heavily, "I'll do anything to get ahead," he vowed silently. Not realizing that when the grimy witch had placed his hands on him that morning, he'd also initiated a spell for a desperate plan.
