“We would like to get a statement from you.” The Elder's skinny dog asked me for the third time. He looked familiar, but I couldn’t place him, no matter how hard I tried.
“You’ll get it during the trial,” I replied coolly.
“We want one now to make the trial go smoother.”
“For whom? You or me?” His silence spoke volumes.
“We just want to understand.” I rolled my eyes. “We won't even talk about you. We want to talk about your predecessor.”
I stiffened in my seat. “Why do you care about him?”
“We want to see how he treated the Omegas, where they were living, things like that. This will help us determine when the problem started.” He paused. “In situations such as these, we need to ascertain where the abuse started. Was it learned behavior or not.”
