TAYLOR GETS A TEXT message from Gruner.
Sir, the Gulfstream is serviced and ready for flight. We will strap Quinn into a seat when you give the word.
He relays the message to the secretary.
“Thank you, general.” Then, turning to both of them, Vasquez continues, “Gentlemen, I found what I hoped I’d find on this trip.” He pauses to look each in the eye. “Stay the course. If you need me for any reason, you know how to reach me. Understand this, we can’t eliminate evil, we can only contain it. A big part of our job is to maintain the balance. As you’ve now witnessed, the battlefield rests in each person’s heart. Where we stand is our choice, but that choice determines our future, here now and in the great beyond.”
