CHAPTER 11
AFTER A LONG DAY, General Taylor gets ready to leave his office, looking forward to a home-cooked meal. Before he exits, his desk phone rings. With a sigh, he crosses back to the desk and glances at the caller ID.
“Hi, Jim. What’s up?”
Jim talks too rapidly. Taylor interrupts him, “I’m having trouble understanding you. Give it to me again. This time not so rushed.”
Taylor listens while Jim brings him up to date about the safe.
“Huh, that’s interesting. Ask Donna if she has a key to the house.”
Jim speaks to Donna and then returns to the general, “She doesn’t have a key but knows where to find one.”
Jim explains where the key is located.
“Okay then, does anyone live there now?”
“Donna believes the house is empty.”
