“Yes, yeah. Hi. I’ll see you in twenty.” He hung up before Dodge could answer no. Charley locked up the business and then proceeded north. His brother owned a home on the very limits of Spokane, near enough for easy access to all the basics, but nestled away in a copse of trees that provided it some much-valued seclusion. Personally, Charley was of the view that if you were going to live in the country, you should damned well live in the country—which is why his home was way outside the city boundaries.
