From Vanessa's point of view
The evening was longer than I had imagined. I thought it was all a horrible nightmare but apparently my whole life had gone to hell.
I shook my head and picked up my phone to read my mother's name. I wanted to know what had happened, and why I had to come to this pack. However, the phone was ringing off the hook. The simple beeping on the end of the phone made my heart shrink.
For a second I thought I would get answers, but I didn't even know if my parents were still alive, I just hoped they would get back to me as soon as possible.
I quickly turned on the screen hoping it was an answer from my parents, but my eyes darkened with sadness when it was just an alarm.
Shit, it was 7 p.m. I had spent the whole day lying in my bed thinking about what would become of my life now, however, I should have gone downstairs for dinner by now.
Thinking about it, I shook my head and got out of bed as I wiped the tears from my eyes and walked to the small mirror in the wardrobe. My eyes were puffy and my cheeks were red with my hair completely disheveled.
I did my hair up a bit and sighed as I frowned. I know I should get more dressed up, after all, I'll be with Alpha and Luna, but I wasn't in the mood for anything but crying.
Without hesitation, I sighed deeply and walked towards the door of my room. However, when I opened it I gasped in surprise to find Bennet standing in the hallway with one hand raised. Apparently he was about to knock on my door.
"Bennet? What do you need?" I asked in an annoyed tone.
Again the thought of living with the triplets came to my mind. For a moment I had forgotten them, but I see that my nightmare was a reality.
"I just came to look for you, it's time for dinner. You don't need to be a rude girl" he said with a brusque tone and a frown on his face.
I heard his words and rolled my eyes, "I'll be right down" I said mumbling as I made my way out of the room.
"Ungrateful little pig" Bennett hinted in a low tone as I walked away.
Hearing him I stopped my movements and clenched my fists. I hated it so much that he called me a piggy. I wanted to turn around and scream at him, but I fought against myself to control myself.
After all, I was just a guest in this pack and they were the future alphas, and it was my duty to respect them, even if they were just stuck-up bastards. Besides, my parents and I had been banished from our pack, and I was sure that no other pack would welcome me.
Rambling in my thoughts, I went downstairs and walked towards the kitchen, while Bennet followed me with quick steps.
"Let me in," he said, opening the kitchen door.
I nodded curtly and walked into the room. There was a long table with plates on it. Apparently they had placed my plate right next to James's plate, who had a cynical smile on his face.
I sighed deeply and walked to my chair, but before I sat down, James patted the seat and made a gesture to invite me to sit down.
I didn't understand his expression, he seemed thrilled to see me at that moment, and Bennet had gone to pick me up. If I didn't know any better, I would know perfectly well that they were the kindly alphas that everyone expects but unfortunately I knew those mocking looks.
These triplets were definitely planning something.
