Toni was still teasing Bash when she heard a sound outside the door. She shushed him, feeling like a kid caught causing mischief.
“Hello? Is anyone here?”
Katerina, Toni mouthed to Bash. He put his fingers to his lips and they both held their breaths until they heard her footsteps going in the direction of the kitchen.
Then she slid off the desk and put her clothes back to rights. She gave him the keys to her cabin. “You go use the bathroom. I have to talk to Katerina. I need to tell her that I won’t be working here anymore.”
His expression changed. “Right. That was in the heat of the moment, when you were angry at me. Are you sure?”
