So it was true. The cold night air slammed into Jaden’s face as she ran to the woods behind the castle ground. Boy, were the guards so persistent.
How could she be so blinded? In the end, Ethan and Wilson had never intended to help her kingdom. They only used her for their own selfish game. There was nothing about avenging for the weak, only for their tainted pride. She was foolish to believe a lie of Wilson’s execution was about him being an ally for Vast, when infact he was – they were – the true traitors of both nations. Scumbags…

The commotion inside the palace was subdued with emergency orders for guests to vacate the hall and if must, leave the kingdom at once.
When the hall was returning its spacious view, Justin who was vaguely conscious felt his body being lifted. His eyelids managed to make out a scene in front of him. Someone in a hooded cloak with colour as dark as the blue night, was approaching his way. He saw guards tried to restrain that person but were beaten singlehandedly. He felt his body was sinking to the cold floor again and the guards, he assumed who were supposed to carry him submitted to this hooded person’s command. Before he could make out the person’s identity, he noticed the flicker of those familiar eyes that if long ago it gave him nightmare, now it became a ray of hope inside of him. And he felt something pouring down his throat. For a few seconds, he felt his muscles and limbs strengthen and his eyes opened.
“Cassandra”, he whispered.
Jaden’s sister managed to smile but her voice became more serious and urgent, “Come, we must hurry”.
Justin gathered himself and followed Cassandra’s fast-paced steps, leaving the guards around him agape.
“So have you guessed who the assassin is?” Cassandra spoke as they hurriedly headed outside.
Justin nodded.
“And who the enemy is?”
“Yes”, Justin said with no doubt in his voice. “They are both who are closest to me”.
