Chapter 6

With a look of astonishment, Trystan delicately takes hold of Abby's hand and plants a gentle kiss upon it. 'Never did I anticipate such words escaping your lips. Unexpected, yet greatly appreciated,' he expresses. Abby leans closer, surrendering after days of attempting to win her over, and gazes deeply into his eyes as she whispers, 'There are many things one would never expect,' gently biting her lower lip. She withdraws while still maintaining eye contact, a smile forming on her face as she witnesses his astonished expression. Taking a shallow breath, Trystan returns her intense gaze.

Breaking their eye contact, Abby blushes and clears her throat, asking, 'Are we all prepared?' The affirmations can be heard throughout the table, even Lily coos in agreement. Amused by the adorable baby in front of her, Abby and the rest of the group rise from the table and make their way back to the vehicle. Once everyone is ready to depart, Trystan leads them to their next destination, TapGolf.

Upon arrival at TapGolf, they retrieve their clubs and balls, engaging in a few rounds. As the sky darkens, it becomes evident that it is well past Derek and Lily's bedtime. Naturally, they become restless, prompting Abby to discreetly beckon Trystan and inform him that it is time to leave. Playfully, Kali throws a mini tantrum, reluctantly wanting to finish the game as she is currently winning. The journey to Abby's residence was filled with lively conversation, encompassing various topics of significance. Upon their arrival, they proceeded to put the children to sleep. Abby, however, remained with the children for a brief period, while Trystan and Kali proceeded to the kitchen. Kali successfully located the popcorn and prepared multiple small batches, while Trystan embarked on a futile search for the television remote. After Kali completed the popcorn-making process, she joined Trystan in the search, ultimately discovering it concealed behind an antiquated leather-bound book. Subsequently, Trystan and Kali settled down and commenced the viewing of a motion picture.

Amidst the laughter resonating from Trystan and Kali downstairs, Abby found herself momentarily pausing to relish this unfamiliar sound. She derived immense pleasure from the laughter, fervently desiring to experience it more frequently. The thought crossed her mind that for Trystan to truly hold a place in her life, he must foster harmonious relationships with her family. Based on his ability to evoke laughter from them, it is evident that he fulfills this requirement. Unbeknownst to Abby, she is already descending halfway down the staircase before she recognizes her own actions. Deep within her heart, she is convinced that Trystan will soon become an integral part of her life.

Abby confidently positions herself on the couch between Trystan and Kali. Curious about the movie they're watching, she asks, "What are we watching?" Kali whispers back the title, "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey," and Abby's excitement matches Kali's. Their shared love for horror genres consumes their attention so much that they don't notice how late it has gotten.

Realizing that Kali needs to leave before getting in trouble with her parents, she says her goodbyes and quietly exits. Trystan switches to a different movie, a romance, but after forty-five minutes he abruptly suggests, "f**k this, let's make our own live romance." Without hesitation, Abby eagerly follows Trystan upstairs, having been ready for this moment for a while.

Trystan takes on the role of a caring father figure to Lily, prioritizing her needs. Even if Abby reaches Lily first, Trystan quickly attends to her, showing his nurturing nature. He also guides Derek, teaching him how to handle a club, despite Derek's occasional mishaps. Witnessing this, Abby is convinced that she wants him in every aspect of her life.

As they enter the room, Trystan spins Abby around, their eyes locked in an intense gaze. He confesses, "God, I have wanted to do this since I first saw you," and proceeds to passionately kiss her. Abby eagerly reciprocates, equally consumed by desire. Trystan gently guides her toward the bed, momentarily breaking the kiss, and asks, "Are you ready for this?" To which Abby replies with conviction, "I am."
