Adeline The crack of a limb caused Athena to pop up from her place on the ground where she had been rolling around. I had the innate feeling that I was being watched. “Athena, what is that?” I asked. “I don’t know. It doesn’t have a smell if it’s anything. Probably a limb fell off a tree.” She shrugged. “I don’t know.” I said worriedly. “It’s fine. Stop being a Worry Wanda. I smell a lake. Let’s go check it out!” She bound off through the trees, weaving and jumping over logs. She skidded to a halt at a small lake in the middle of the forest and flopped herself down. She lapped greedily at the water until she had her fill, then sat her head on her paws as she stared out over the water. I couldn’t shake the eerie feeling that I was being watched.
