I sat in the waiting room of the clinic listening to women chat away like they weren't about to end something before it even had a chance to begin. I felt the tears streak down my cheeks as I sat silently waiting for my name to be called. I felt Addy reach for me, but I blocked the bond with an enchantment so they couldn't find me. It was better this way.
"Hazel Alarie!" The young blonde nurse called out. I stood and walked towards the door.
"That's me." I said awkwardly. She gave me a disdainful look and rolled her eyes.
"This way." she said and walked down a corridor. I followed closely behind her, looking from side to side at the doors that lined the halls. I could here soft crying from time to time indicating the devastation of a choice a young woman had made.
