Adeline I hated Cassandra, but I would never wish her fate on anyone. My heart ached for the she-wolf with every crack of the whip. When she passed out from the pain and blood loss I felt my knees buckle, but luckily Giovanni and Beau held me steady. When Finnigan landed the final blow my stomach lurched. Cassandra’s back was fileted open exposing the bone and viscera beneath the skin. My throat burned as I pushed the acid back down. “Amore mio, are you alright? You do not have to watch this. The Alpha Beau can take you away from here.” Giovanni looked over at Beau who gave a slight nod. I leaned my head against Beau’s arm and took a deep breath of his vanilla and cinnamon scent. “I need to see this through. I need to know it’s over.” I said. My voice came out stronger than I thought
