20 Two months later Dominic sat nervously in an elegant coach bearing the crest of the Earl of Camden. He and Roberta and his father drove down the long drive to his old childhood home in Cornwall. He still couldn’t believe he was back in England, or that he was alive. His father had heard rumors of a pirate called Captain Grey some months before and had called in every favor he had with the king to secure a royal pardon. As it turned out, his father had landed in Port Royal just hours before Dominic had been escorted off Huntington’s ship, but he hadn’t heard about the hanging until just before the actual event. With a pardon in hand, Huntington had been unable to have his public execution of Dominic and had to content himself with executing the remaining crew of the Red Lady. Robert
