Nora’s P.O.V
My mate and I came out of the woods, from patrolling the exact same time that Rachel and her mate Shark came out. Spike nudged me and pointed over to the house and we all turned our attention to it, watching as Goldie and Trevor walked into the house hand in hand.
“Well, it's about damn time they realised that they are mates.” Rachel and I said in unison, making us both giggle. Spike wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my shoulder just as the other patrollers came forward to take over. We all nodded to each other as they went into the woods to start their patrol and we headed to the house. The guards were by the gates when we switched over and they had a football game to watch. The guards ran past us into the house to take their showers and get changed so that they could come back downstairs in time for the game to start, while us four just wanted our beds. We had been patrolling for two days straight and we needed our sleep, so we went upstairs and separated for our rooms, quickly showering and relaxing into our beds.
Mercury’s P.O.V
The next day everyone was up early, getting ready for the arrival of the Alpha and Luna of Silver Moon Mafia Pack, but it was a strange day because instead of everyone working in shifts, they all had to be on duty and on guard. I knew that Alpha Kent liked to play games and he liked to have snipers up in the trees, shooting the guards in the head and killing them so his warriors could come inside and take over. I wasn't about to let him do this to my pack and I had my own snipers up on the roof, ready to take them down. It took a few hours and everyone was in place, ready for anything that Alpha Kent had to throw at us. I wasn't worried in the slightest, but I couldn't wait to see what Cheyenne was going to do.
“They're here sir, we’re walking them up to the pack house now.” My guard said, mind-linking me.
“Ok, we’re ready, let them inside.” I mind-linked back, just as one of the snipers on the roof mind-linked me.
“Sir, there's three in the trees.” My sniper said and I shook my head at the predictability of Alpha Kent.
“Wait until they are inside the house and then take them down.” I replied, smiling.
“Yes sir.” My sniper replied and I ended the link. Twenty minutes later, Alpha Kent and his Luna Jennifer walked into the office, where Cheyene and I were waiting.
“Take them down now.” I commanded, mind-linking my sniper.
“Yes sir.” My sniper replied and a few minutes later shots could be heard and then nothing. Alpha Kent was smirking, thinking he had got the better of me.
“So, Mercury. I'm here to talk to you about territory, don't you think I need more space, my pack is growing and I need more room.” Alpha Kent said, still smirking.
“Kent, if you want more territory then you need to ask the other Alpha that's an hour away from you. I'm not giving up any of my territory and how is your pack growing? From what I hear some run from your pack because you try and sleep with them. Why do you do that when you have a Luna right here that you can f**k anytime you want.” I replied, laughing and just then a few more shots were heard.
“A few more down sir, boy they’re stupid, they keep getting in the trees where they can be seen.” June, one of my snipers said, mind-linking me and I smirked.
Cheyenne’s P.O.V
I was keeping an eye on Jennifer, I didn't like how she was looking at my mate, but then I saw something shiny in her hand and she was trying to hide it. I walked over to her and she just looked up at me smiling.
“Care to hand over what you're hiding and put it in my hand or do you want your head torn off of your shoulders.” I said, but Jennifer just smirked at me and got up from her seat.
“Child, do you really think you can take me? I've lived longer and I'm much stronger and smarter than you.” Jennifer replied, making me laugh.
“Try not to hurt me too much.” I said as I grabbed her by the throat.
“Like I said, hand over what you have hidden in your hand right now.” I said, slightly growling and Jennifer looked shocked. She must not have realised how strong I was and tossed the dagger down onto the floor. I let go of her throat and grabbed a handful of her hair, pulling her head back so she was facing me.
“Pick it up and put it on the desk.” I said and Jennifer did what she was told. I tossed her back into her chair and the chair almost tipped over, as Alpha Kent stood from his seat.
“b***h, if I was you I wouldn't put another finger on my mate.” Alpha Kent said, trying to sound threatening and if that was the best he could do it was pitiful.
“And if I do, what are you going to do? Have one of you snipers shoot me in the head, yeah we know all about them as well, you dumb ass. You're not so smart, so if I was you I would sit your ass back in that chair and listen to the boss.” I replied and Mercury started laughing.
“I have many snip….” Alpha Kent started to say, but was cut off by Mercury laughing at him.
“Not anymore.” Mercury said and just then four guards came walking into the office carrying the dead bodies of Alpha Kent’s snipers.
“Here are your snipers, now get the hell out of my office.” Mercury said, growling.
“I'll be back, I'll take over this pack and when I do I'll kill you and your b***h of a mate.” Alpha Kent said, growling back and I didn't like his tone, but then again I didn't like him. I looked at Alpha Kent and pushed him back, did a round kick and caught him in the head, knocking him out.
“Get this trash out of our office. Oh and uh Jennifer, if you look at my man again the way you have been doing, I’ll rip your f*****g eyes out and shove them down your f*****g throat.” I said and Jennifer ran to Kent, picking him up and putting him over her shoulder, she ran out of the office and into the woods.
“Get rid of these bodies and dump them on their territory, I don't want their pack stinking out the pack house.” Mercury ordered and two men came forward, wrapping the bodies in plastic and throwing them into the back of a van. The two men bowed their heads to Mercury and I, then got in the van and headed to Silver Moon Mafia Territory.
Luna Jennifer’s P.O.V
I made it all the way back to our territory and lay Kent down on our bed. The bodies of the dead snipers were dumped at the border of our territory and I knew this was Mercury’s doing, they were wrapped in plastic and brought down to the pack house by some of our guards. I waited for him to come round, but it was taking ages so I started to shake him, until he finally woke up.
“You stupid asshole. They knew, how are we going to take over now?” I asked him, as he started to rub the side of his head and his jaw.
“Will you shut the f**k up, you dumb b***h. I'll think of something. I need to lay back down, I have a headache. Have the Omega’s come and burn the bodies. I'll need more snipers and that means I'll have to start training them again.” Kent said and I nodded in response.
“Omega’s, I need you here now. Burn the bodies out front and clean up the mess.” I said, mind-linking them and followed Kent up to our room.
Mercury’s P.O.V
Cheyenne came over and sat down on my lap, I was so proud of her and how she handled the situation.
“So, how did I do in the first meeting?” Cheyenne asked and I smirked at her.
“You did great, but I'm surprised you didn't rip that bitches head off. Was the dagger silver?” I asked and Cheyenne picked up the dagger, looking at it carefully. She touched the blade and her hand started to sizzle, but it didn't look like she was in pain. She took the blade away from her hand and I looked at the skin, it had turned red, but had already started to heal.
“So, silver hurts werewolves.” Cheyenne said, looking back at her hand and the blade with curiosity.
“Yes and silver bullets as well. There is also a liquid called wolfsbane and when taken in small doses it can get a werewolf drunk, but when it's injected directly into our system or if the right amount is used in food and drink it can poison us and even kill us depending on the dosage.” I replied and she just nodded, still looking at her hand. I think this had been the first time she had been injured since becoming a werewolf and she seemed to be fascinated with how her hand was healing so fast.
“Come on, let's go eat. I asked the cook April if she could fix us grilled chicken sandwiches and fried mushrooms.” Cheyenne said and I smirked, remembering our very first meal together. We walked into the kitchen and sat down at the island in the middle and just as we started eating Trevor and Goldie walked in, holding hands. Cheyenne looked up and almost choked on her mushroom when she saw them, I started patting her back and laughed at her reaction. Goldie walked over to her and she seemed a bit wary at first.
“Alpha, Luna Alpha, I know we didn't get off to a good start, but it's not my fault, it's your mate's fault. He wanted me to piss you off to see how strong you are and may I say that you have one hell of a right hook.” Goldie said, grassing me up to Cheyenne and I knew I was in for it, but then Cheyenne started laughing, which really scared and confused me.
“Thanks, next time just watch who you call a slut, I'm no slut.” Cheyenne replied and I felt a sigh of relief leaving me, maybe I wouldn't get it in the neck for setting her up.
“I think we’re going to become great friends.” Goldie said and Cheyenne nodded.
“I see you two finally made it official.” I said, looking at Trevor.
“Yeah, last night we did. We’ve been dating for a while, but we didn't know that we were mates until now.” Trevor replied, just as Cody walked in the kitchen and took a deep breath.
Cheyenne’s P.O.V
I saw mercury let out a sigh of relief and if he thought that I would forget about this and just let it go then he was sorely mistaken. I was going to make him pay for this, maybe I could withhold s*x from him, but then again I would be punishing myself as well. I’ll think of something, no matter how long it takes me.
“Cheyenne, someone is here to see you. I’m sorry, but I couldn't keep her away any longer.” Cody said, confusing the hell out of me. Who is he talking about? Who's here to see me? Just then Amber appeared in the doorway, she was wearing shorts, a t-shirt with no shoes or socks and her feet were covered in dirt.
“What the f**k Amber? Why didn't you tell me?” I asked as Amber took a step inside and I got out of my chair, going over to her and hugging her.
“You're a wolf as well, why didn't you tell me? How long?” I asked and Amber sighed.
“Since we were kids, my parents are as well, I was born a werewolf. We don't have a pack, so we live on our own, but we’re not rogue’s, we’re lone wolves. I wanted to tell you when I met you, but I was told that no humans could ever find out about us, that if humans believed in things like us they would hunt us down, so I hid this from you. I came here with my parents to ask Alpha Don….” Amber said, but got cut off by Mercury.
“Please call me Mercury.” Mercury said, making Amber smile and feel a little bit more relaxed.
“I came here to ask you….Mercury, if we could join your pack. We are tired of being lone wolves and would like to be part of a pack, somewhere that we can call family.” Amber said and Mercury stood up from his seat.
“Where are your parents now?” Mercury asked and Amber's eyes glazed over as she mind-linked them. Amber’s parents walked in and stood behind her.
“These are my parents, Karen and Jeff. Mom, dad I would like for you to meet Mercury, the Alpha Don of the pack and his Luna, my best friend Cheyenne.” Amber said, introducing us all and they nodded and bowed their heads to us.
“You are more than welcome to join our pack. We have houses and cabins in the back, but for the unmated, you Amber can stay on the first floor of the packhouse, until you have found your mate.” Mercury said and suddenly Cody cleared his throat.
“Sir, I am her mate.” Cody announced, shocking us all. I knew they were dating, but I had no idea that they were actually mates, but then again I had no idea that Amber was a werewolf or that werewolves even existed for that matter until recently, so I don't know why I am surprised by this.
“Alright then, well, you can move into one of the houses out back or move in here, if you feel safer.” Mercury replied and Amber nodded.
“Wait, Amber, did Cody ask you to marry him yet.” I asked and she started laughing.
“Yes, he asked me on the night of the graduation and I said yes.” Amber replied and I smiled widely at her.
“You better treat her right Cody, she's my best friend.” I said, warning him.
“I plan on it.” Cody replied, nodding and smiling. Trevor and Goldie came over and led Amber, Cody and her parents out of the house to show them the houses out back and to get them settled in.
