Chapter 2Jules woke to an empty bed Friday morning. Not that he was the least bit surprised as it was almost eleven and Eddie had to be at work at eight. After showering and dressing, he fixed a late breakfast, or early lunch he figured, before making a sandwich to take to Russ, along with a container of cottage cheese. He arrived at the club at twelve-thirty, well before its opening time of four. As soon as he let himself in, turning the security on again when he had, he went to the bottom of the stairs and called Russ’s name, not wanting to scare him by appearing without a warning.
