Chapter 6Russ did sleep, much to his surprise, awaking Sunday morning feeling better than he had since he’d first arrived at the club—at least physically. Emotionally he was up and down. Frightened, of course. Who wouldn’t be if they were in his shoes? Happy? He considered what had happened between him and Marcus and thought he was…maybe. He wasn’t at all certain anything would come of their conversation but it could, he decided, although not until Howe and his thugs had been arrested and were sitting in jail. Until then, he wouldn’t be able to relax enough to explore the possibilities, presuming Marcus wanted to. For all he knew, it was the situation that made Marcus see him as someone interesting. That could change as soon as Russ was free to be more than the target of a couple of killer
