Chapter 5Footsteps on the stairs to Jules’ office announced the arrival of at least three people from the sound of it. Eddie opened the door to let Wally in, carrying a tray loaded with sandwiches, Cal, carrying two six-packs of bottled water, and a man who had to be Cal’s detective friend.
Russ thought the man was in his mid-thirties. He had brown hair and eyes and, although he wasn’t handsome, the warmth of his smile counteracted that, which helped him relax a bit.
Wally set the tray on the desk, while Cal handed out water before putting what was left in the refrigerator. Then, he introduced the new man as Detective Len Kingston and told him who everyone was.
