"Bolo bhi (now say): Huh, why are you silent? Huh," he once again shouted, digging his nails into her arms. "Aahh, veer, it's hurting," she whispered, and a tear escaped from her eyes. Veer loosened his grip and left the room, leaving a scared Samaira behind. _________________________________ Samaira's pov. Aah, monkey, donkey, monster, aah, my arms, it's so painful. I know I spilled the juice on his laptop, but it was by mistake. But the way he shouted Huh monster... Mom, dad, I want to go home. I don't want to live here with this monster... Her trance was broken by a knock on the door. "Vedika Mam is calling you downstairs," said one butler. "OK, I am coming," she said. _________________ Vedika was sitting in the dining room just then Samaira came and asked, "Mom, you called?" "Yes, Samaira, today you have to go to your father's house for some rituals, and yes, Veer will take you there." Listening to Veer's name, her eyes widened. "Why, veer... I mean, I can call my brother and he will come and pick me up," said Samaira. "Why, Samaira, he is your husband, and he will take you to your house, okay," said Vedika sternly. "OK," and she left the place. ____________________________ After sometime, Samaira got ready and went downstairs, where she found Veer waiting for her. They both left for Mehta Mansion. drive was silent. It wasn't a peaceful silence. It was horrifying, as Samaira was very scared of Veer because of the morning incident. He stopped the car on a vacant road, and saw Samaira fidgeting her fingers and biting her lips in nervousness. "Samaira woh." He tried to say something but was not able to as he stuttered. "Samaira I.. I. .. Mean. I am. "Sorry for the morning incident," he apologized. Samaira's eyes widened as she listened to his apology, as she wasn't expecting this from him, not now at least. Samaira's pov. OMG Veer Singhania apologised in front of me. OMG. I couldn't believe this. But I was very angry with him. How dare he hurt me like that? I hate him. Huh.. "Samaira, are you even listening, and this broke my trance?" "Hmmm, yes, it's OK," I said, shaking my head. ________________________ We reached Mehta Mansion. And my mom did our aarti and welcomed us. "I missed you, Baccha (baby)," and my mom kissed my forehead. "So why did you get me married?" I shouted. "Samaira, behave yourself. Veer is here." My dad glared at me. But I cared less and went to my room. _______________________ "Sorry, Veer, for Samaira's ill behavior," her mother apologised to Veer. "Nahi aunty, it's OK. "You don't need to apologize," said Veer politely. Her mother smiled. "Aunty, can I go to Samaira's room?" he asked her. "Sure, beta," Urmi replied politely. _________________________ He knocked at the door. "I do not want to talk to anyone. Just come from here," she shouted from inside. "Samaira," he called her name softly. But she didn't reply, so he went inside. "Samaira," she said, hearing her name from his mouth. "what happened?" "Nothing just goes," she said. "Why are you crying?" he asked. "Yes, I'm crying, and now you can make fun of me and do whatever you want; I don't care," she shouted, rubbing her eyes harshly. Veer's pov. Why was she crying? Maybe she was disturbed by this marriage thing. "Samaira, now stop crying and wash your face," I said in an authoritative tone. "Oo, hello monster, this is my room. Get out and stop bossing around me," "Oo, hello monster, this is my room now. Get out and stop bossing around me," while I was looking at her with my mouth open. Right now she was crying and then suddenly her behaviour changed. Was she bipolar? Aah, this girl will surely make me crazy one day. "Now get out," she shouted at me. This at the at the packet shouted at me one more time No. No one, like no one, has dared to shout at me and this little one. "Samaira, say sorry," I said calmly. "Why should I?" She replied, glaring at me. "Just say sorry to me, Samaira," I said calmly, but this girl surely knows how to test my patience. "Huh, I won't," she replied. "No one, like no one, has dared to raise his voice against Veer Singhania and you, little one," he shouted. "I am Samaira Veer Singhania, your wife; I can do whatever I want, and yes, I'm not scared of you, and I can shout at you whenever and wherever I want," she shouted back at me in an authoritative tone. Did she just claim her rights against me? But I didn't reply back to her... ____________________________________ After dinner, Samaira and Veer returned to the Singhania Mansion. After changing into her night dress, Samaira laid down on the right side of the bed. And then she saw Veer settling himself on the small couch. "Either you can sleep on the other side; I don't have any problem," she said politely. Veer's pov. No, no, no, I couldn't sleep on the bed; otherwise, she would kick me once again. The previous night, she kicked me very hard... "No Samaira OK, I can manage," I replied to her. "But the couch is too small for a monster like you to sleep," she said, eyeing me and then the couch. "Stop calling me a monster, you chota packet, and now I can sleep," I replied. I wanted to sleep in bed, but the previous night's incident was horrible for me. Veer settled himself on the couch, but sleep was far away from him, and the same was true for Samaira too. "Slept?" asked Samaira. He just hummed. "Woh, I want to say something," Samaira said. She heard his voice. "Veer, my final exams are from next week, soo--" she stopped, unable to form more words. "It's OK, Samaira, you can do your exams. I will talk to mom," he replied, making her smile. "Veer "I want to study further; I want to make my career," she said. "I will be with you forever. You can study as much as you want," he assured her. Samaira's pov. This monster is not as bad as I thought. "But one thing, you have to follow some of the rules of my family; I don't want you to disobey my family," he said to me, and I nodded. "Now go to sleep, it's pretty late," he adds. "I am sorry; you can sleep on the bed. I will not kick you; last night I kicked you intentionally," I said nervously. And he stood up and started walking towards me. "Why Samaira?" he asked, coming dangerously close to my face. And his warm breath fanned my face, and I shut my eyes tightly because of his anger. "Sorryyy"—I just uttered this much. "You kicked me yesterday, huh?" he asked me again. "Woh, I was very angry at you, so that's why," I meekly replied. "You are impossible," he muttered and lied down beside me, not before making a pillar with the cushion.
