After Clary and Karako leave there is a tension in the room between Lucin and I, one I can not explain. I glance up at him and find him staring down at me curiously, as if he is waiting for me to say something. And so to break whatever tension this is, I decide to speak up.
“So… Are you also new to town…?” I begin asking him, letting out a slow breath and not realising how fast my heart has been racing ever since the girls left me alone with him.
“You could say that yeah…” He nods up to me, and I watch him exhale deeply, keeping his eyes on me as he pays attention to my every move.
“Well, I hope you’re not looking for me to show you around…” I unintentionally blurt out and as soon as the words are out of my mouth, I immediately regret them. Okay, did I really mean to say that…?
