VOLUME 1 - Chapter 4

1324 Words
As Soren and I drive to campus, I hang onto my seatbelt for dear life all while trying to quickly eat the breakfast Gabi prepared for us and making sure I don’t spill things onto my clothes or onto the seats. Soren blasts rap music through the speakers of his car and I’m at least glad he decided to put the hood of the car up, I don’t exactly need people watching me eat in the front seat of a convertible. “Babe I’m telling you, I’m on my last straw with Angela… I feel like she’s made it a hobby to get on my nerves.” I complain to him while grabbing the second to last piece of bacon, putting it in my mouth and beginning to chew, right before I take the last piece and give it to Soren as well. “Yeah, she’s always been a b*tch… It’s only cause Marc’s my bro, otherwise I wouldn’t even tolerate her.” Soren answers me and shakes his head while he keeps his gaze on the road. “Yeah, I’m just glad Gabi was there…” I say and place the fork on the plate and begin looking around to try and find a place to put this. This was Soren’s idea so he obviously had a solution to what we were going to do about the plate as well. “Thank God for Gabs… and also for the breakfast, damn…” He groans, shaking his head as he cleans his teeth with his tongue. My heart drops slightly and I raise my eyebrow at him, his comment coming off slightly inappropriate… “How did you know she’s the one that cooked?” I ask her but that’s not the only thing I want to ask him. Was there really a reason for him to react like that? “She was in an apron when we got to the kitchen…” He gives me a logical explanation, glancing over at me just as we reach the main entrance of campus and drive in. Leopard’s Grove University is pretty huge, so much so that our boarding house is actually considered to be on campus. So the drive to the block where I take my class is about a 10-minute drive from the house. I could always walk but Soren insists on driving me. He tells me “How else am I meant to show off that I managed to bag the finest girl in school.” But I think it’s just an excuse for him to drive into campus with that loud engine of his. I’m studying professional photography and I’m currently in my third year so I’m pretty much only one year from completing my degree. It’s something I’m looking forward to especially since I’ve worked so hard and come quite far. “Right…” I answer him, trailing off before I take the plate and turn around to face the backseat, placing the plate on the floor of the car and turning back to my seat, my eyes landing on Soren. “You’re gonna take care of that, since it was your idea to eat in the car…” I tell him but the entire time I’m a little distracted by what he said about Gabriella… “Fair enough…” He answers me and right before I can say anything about the matter, or even bring up the whole thing that happened earlier with Oliver, he quickly speaks up and changes the topic. “Hey… have you changed your mind about the party?” He suddenly asks and I exhale softly, seeing as the party isn’t something I really want to talk about. “No… I told you I can’t, I have work that day…” I answer him, my mind travelling to this Friday and how after work, the last thing I’d want to do is attend a party. All I’m gonna wanna do is sleep and not have to be bothered about loud music. “Yeah and it’ll end at 5 pm, party begins at 7 pm...” He persists and I change my head at him for pressing the subject further. “I’ll be too tired…” I say, hoping that he’ll at least understand. It’s not that I don’t want to spend time with him, I just wish that he picked a better day for this. We’re right smack in the middle of the semester and pop quizzes have already begun. Now’s the time to concentrate. “Babe come on… it’s going to be fun… plus there’s only gonna be like 20 people… something chill…” He tells me just as we approach our usual parking spot, finding it empty. Everyone knew not to dare take the spot of Soren Bennet… “So 200 people?” I ask him just as he grins and shakes his head at me, bringing the car carefully into the parking space and turning it off once we’ve come to a stop. That’s when he brings his gaze to me and stares me in the eye, grabbing my hand and kissing it softly. “Trust me… a lot of people really want you there… it’s going to be the best night of your life…” He says lowly, purposely speaking to me in a hoarse voice so he can get his way. I know his tactics, and we’ve been here before. And unfortunately, it works. My expression softens as I find myself become mesmerised by his green eyes. I then glance once at his lips, not being about to stop myself from getting mesmerised by them. “Fine…” I answer him, being the one to lean to him and kiss him deeply, holding onto his neck for a few seconds before I pull away and stare back at him. “Thank you…” I tell him and he nods briefly at me smiling as he brings the back of my hand to his lips and kisses it lightly. “Now come on, we got here just in time, with 5 minutes to spare…” He says, motioning to the time on the dashboard and that’s when I nod back at him and begin climbing out of the car, almost completely forgetting about my pop quiz. “Right, right…” I answer him quickly right before he unlocks the doors and we both step out of the car. Just as I sling my bag over my shoulder, he walks over to my side of the car and does something I’m not expecting him to do. I feel him pin me against the exterior of the car, making me gasp and begin to look around me shyly, wary of who might be watching us… “Soren…” I’m about to complain but then I feel his lips smash against mine and begin kissing me roughly and I’m ashamed to say this time around, I give into the pleasure despite the time and place. He abruptly pulls away from me before bringing his face to the side of my face, his lips brushing against my ear lightly. “After your quiz, I’m f*cking your brains out, I don’t care when or where…” He whispers to me, a series of chills running through my entire body and making me shudder as I inhale sharply. “Baby…” I answer him, right until my eyes land on something happening about 20 feet from where we’re standing... something peculiar… “I mean it…” He tries to tell me but I’m unfortunately distracted by what’s happening behind him. “Hey… something’s going on…” I tell him and that’s when he pulls away to look down at me curiously, up until he begins to frown and eventually turn around, his gaze focusing on what I’m looking at, the same level of surprise taking over his features… This is definitely not how I expected our day to start…
