Present time.
“Lexi, Are you okay? You look pale?” Lexi heard Doctor Yan ask her. She got a non-formal job interview today in her clinic, and she was just right on time after spending the whole morning vomiting and dry-heaving.
Lexi shook her head. “Not really,” she answered, smiling.
“Oh, poor lady. Are you okay with the orphanage? Are they treating you right?” Doctor Yan asked once more.
Lexi smiled. “Yes! They are great!” she answered. Her weekday job was excellent as she didn’t feel pressured and exhausted except for some foreign NGO staff that she worked with. Mainly with Manuel, a Swedish national who seemed to act strange whenever he was around with her. He worked in the main office while she did most of the job in the field.
“Oh, so why do you look so sick?”
“I’m pregnant,” Lexi answered, flinching. “I am bloody pregnant, Doctor Yan…” she finally confessed.
“Oh, wow…that’s… that’s great news!” Doctor Yan exclaimed. “How far along are you?”
“Eight weeks,”
“Two months?!”
“Yes…”
“You didn’t know you were pregnant when you came here?”
Lexi deeply inhaled. “I got pregnant soon as I got here,” she answered.
“Oh…” Doctor Yan raised her brow.
“Doctor Yan. I still want this extra job,” Lexi sincerely said, “Just let me work with you during weekends, and I hope this pregnancy won’t stop you from hiring me,” she pleaded.
Doctor Yan smirked. “Of course, You’re one of the best nurses I’ve come across with, Lexi, don’t worry,” she said,
“Thank you, Doc,” Lexi genuinely smiled.
“Does your fiancé know?” Doctor Yan asked again as she looked at Lexi’s ring finger.
Lexi flinched. She knew the doctor would ask her soon as she saw the ring on her finger. It was her ring but not an engagement ring. She only wore it so Manuel would stop bugging her. To let him know that she was taken and now pregnant. “Yeah…He’s… he’s coming back soon…” she lied.
“Perfect, so can you start next week?”
“Sure,” Lexi agreed. “Thank you, doctor Yan… I owe you my life,” she added. Her job with the lovely lady would be more likely a pro-bono one. She just wanted the hospital environment as she had always been back in her home country.
Lexi and doctor Yan continued chatting as she asked the other nurse to take Lexi’s blood samples to make sure she was healthy and fine. While waiting for the result, Lexi talked with nurse Chida about the routine and where to go for the test laboratory, and whatnot. The nurse was happy to assist her because she would finally have a longer off during weekend check-up schedules.
“You are healthy, Lexi. You’re exactly eight weeks and one day,” doctor Yan said as she probed the transducer stick on Lexi’s tummy. “Healthy sac here with strong heartbeats!” she smiled.
Lexi just nodded. Until now, her condition hadn’t sunk in her mind yet. She knew she was pregnant, but that was it. Maybe she was still shocked by the information yesterday and even today. She looked at the widescreen and saw the blob that indeed looked healthy and strong. “Sweet,” she mumbled.
Doctor Yan smiled. “I’ll give you the supplements for free, young lady. Don’t worry about your medical needs. It’s on me,” she said.
Lexi smiled. It wasn’t she couldn’t afford it, but she was grateful to know that Doctor Yan would love to help her.
“Thanks, Doc! That’s such a lovely gift,” Lexi said as she cleaned the gel off her tummy.
“No worries, Lexi,” Doctor Yan helped Lexi to sit. “Do you have any plans today?”
“Yes..” Lexi answered. She actually does. Lexi was planning to tell Andrew about her pregnancy. She thought it would be fair enough for him to know even though he might not like it. Lexi had no doubts he wouldn’t as she found him nice and gentle that night. If he ever didn’t like the news, she couldn’t care less. She could support herself and secure her baby’s future.
“Okay, just take of yourself, and let’s get in touch this week, yes?” Doctor Yan said as they walked out of the ultrasound room.
“Yes, doctor, and Thank you so much!” Lexi said as she hugged her. After Doctor Yan provided her the medicine, Lexi left and called a rickshaw driver to send him to Andrew’s apartment. She still remembered the floor and the door, and she just hoped he was there to be at least civil enough to receive her.
What happened between them was an accident, but she doesn’t have any plans to oblige him and push him to take responsibility for her baby. She would give him the freedom to choose. It would be either to stay for the baby or just give her the sole responsibility.
Lexi was fully aware of the consequences of her thoughts and decisions. And since it was her choice to live freely and away from the royal responsibilities, she already accepted her fate and didn’t have any ounce of regret in her heart.
“We are here,” the rickshaw driver said. Lexi paid her bill and headed straight inside the building. It was only a few blocks away from her new apartment. She spoke to the receptionist and listed her name in the logbook before heading towards the elevator.
She inhaled a deep breath as she got in the lift and pressed the tenth-floor button. The ride was smooth and fast, unlike the last time she used it. Once it dinged, Lexi walked towards the spacious and elegant hallway. Lexi then stood in front of the door she remembered Andrew had brought her in. She pressed the doorbell and waited for someone to answer or open it.
Lexi heard the door unlocked. “Hi!” A heavily pregnant lady greeted her to her surprise
“H...Hello…” She stuttered. Lexi saw how the lady looked at her while she smiled.
“How may I help you?”
“I…I’m Lexi…May… may I speak to Andrew?” she shakenly asked for some reason. She quickly thought it was terrible. The lady must be Andrew’s wife.
The lady scowled at her. “Oh…I’m sorry… There’s no Andrew living here…” she coolly answered, rubbing her tummy.
“Oh… Okay….” Lexi mumbled as she looked at the lady’s protruding tummy. “I’m… I’m sorry… It must be the wrong door. Thank you,” she quickly bade before hastily turning around and leaving the hall.
Lexi got the right door, but for some reason, she lost her strength to ask the lady further. Just like that, she seemed didn’t know what to do, unlike her thoughts earlier. She somehow expected there would be no Andrew living there after seeing the lovely pregnant lady.
“Damn…he got a bloody wife!” Lexi muttered as she entered the elevator.

“Mickey… please… wake up soon….”
Mckey heard a familiar voice talking to him. It was Andy. She seemed crying and sad. He tried to open his eyes as he moved his body, but he felt restrained and helpless.
“Please…I can’t rest seeing you like this,” Andy added as she looked at her twin, who was lying on the hospital bed. His gorgeous face was bruised and with so many tubes attached to his poor body. It had been three days since he got involved in an accident, and he was still unconscious even though the doctor had assured them he would be fine.
“Andy,” Mickey mumbled, but he couldn’t even hear his voice.
“I love you, Mics. We are all waiting for you,” Andy continued. “Miggy is looking forward to seeing you and showing the drawings he made for you,” she sniffled.
Mickey couldn’t understand what Andy meant as she talked to him. He knew his son, but why was she telling him that they were waiting for him. He never left, and he was on the bed and just couldn’t move. He still had no idea what happened, and soon as he tried to think of it, his head began to throb and pound.
“Mickey!!! Don’t you f*****g follow any lights! Do you understand me!?” Mickey then heard a nagging voice from a speaker. It was Charlene. “I repeat, you fool, don’t follow the light! Please don’t leave us! Reagan and Amanda are waiting for you to come back here, yes!?” she added, making Mickey flinch.
“Woman, keep screaming at him!” Andy chucklingly said as she noticed some movements on Mickey’s face. The doctor said Mckey could hear them, but he couldn’t wake just like that since he was in a deep sleep.
The doctor had to put him in a coma after breaking several of his ribs and bones. They said he was lucky to survive since the accident was horrible. The police were still investigating it, but they speculated it might have something to what Miles Carlson, their father’s business partner, found out yesterday.
“Mickey! Please, don’t stress Andy and Me. We are freaking pregnant, so you better wake up and get your ass up!” Charlene spat again.
Andy snickered. “Did you hear what she said? Please Mickey, please wake up soon,” she added, brushing Mickey’s arm.
“I will, Andy…I will…” All Mickey could inwardly mumble as sleep seized him again.
