I didn’t say anything more, I know she wants me to do more things for her, but we have to be careful. I know tomorrow at work isnt going to be fun I have a feeling Rebecca is going to do something or make me work my ass off. I mean I guess I cannot blame her, she does seem kind of overworked, maybe it's been hard keeping people working at the diner.

I know I am going to have to keep my head straight and not let anyone try and talk down to me. I know it's going to be hard since the humans don’t know about us, or if they do they don’t want to hear it so I don’t want to cause issues. I don’t want to cause issues for my new Boss either even though he seems like he can handle anything that comes to him.

Morning peaked around, I felt sick to my stomach. I don’t know why, but I didn’t want to go today. I know if I don’t go I won't have a job, but what if that customer is there again? I don’t know what I will do if he tries to make me feel small again, I know I will do the same thing to him but this time he might do something back.

Getting to work I felt better for some reason, maybe it was because of everything that happened yesterday. I know I just have to be strong and show Leon that I can handle his customers no matter how much they want to talk down to me.

“Good morning,” Rebecca said. “I thought you were coming in later?”

“I was, but then I thought about all the things that happened yesterday, and I wanted to be here to help you as much as I can. I know you haven't had help for a while, so let's get this handled. I want you to have an easier time.”

“Well Leon isnt going to pay you for this.” she sighed. “But if you want to stay here and help me then I can teach you a few things that you are going to need to know when I am not here.”

“Fine.” I smiled. “I want to learn as much as I can that way you don’t have to help me as much and you can do what you need to do.”

“Good, go and clock in, I will let Leon know you are going to work overtime today so you can be here and get paid too.”

Part of me didn’t want to believe that she would do that for me, but I don’t know her enough and I hope she doesn’t have anything against me. I don’t want to get in trouble and I don’t want to get Leon pissed off at me. Yesterday was bad enough I don’t want to feel like I have to walk on eggshells again, maybe everything will be fine.

“I don’t trust her.” my wolf complained. “She is going to try and get you into trouble.”

“I know.” I sighed. “But what am I going to do? I need to make sure she stays happy with me, she’s already got me in trouble once and I don’t want to deal with that again.”

“Yeah well if she does get you fired it's going to piss me off and I will rip her face off and I won't care what you say,” she whined.

I am worried about getting in trouble, so I didn’t clock in. I didn’t want Leon to see that I wanted to break his rules, he is going to see that I will work for him as much as I can and if he doesn’t want to pay me I guess it's something I am going to have to worry about later. I know it's going to hurt working for free today, but it doesn’t matter I am just going to keep myself busy.

I don’t want my wolf to tear anyone up, but if she does get me fired then I am going to freak out and yeah I might even do something crazy, something I will regret in the future but right now let's not think about that.

“I know you want to protect me, but we have to be careful, I know you want to get this over and done with but what if she doesn’t care about us, and she is trying to get us to see that she is the boss?”

“Yeah well if she is going to make it where we don’t have anywhere to go then I am going to do what I want to her,” she growled at me. I know she isnt getting mad at me, but she wants to show Rebecca we’re not innocent.

“Relax, I have to work and I don’t want to get into trouble, I think Leon is here.” I sighed. Is he going to be upset I am here already?

“Good.” she mused. “Maybe you can show him that you are here for free and he will fire you.” she sighed. “I still think you should clock in that way things are better and we’re getting money so we can get out of here.”

She does have a point there, but I don’t want to cause issues.

“Abigail can I see you,” Leon said looking at me. “It will only be a minute,”

“Sure.” I smiled. Great what does he want to say now?

“Sit,” he said gesturing for me to take a seat. “I know you are new here, but you cannot come in and work free,” he sighed.

“I am not,” I said shaking my head. “I mean I am, but I am here because I cannot stay at my hotel.” I sighed.

“Well, I am not allowing you to work for free, either you clock in or go home. I know you think you are helping me out here, but you aren't.” he sighed. “I could get shut down for this.”

“I am sorry I didn’t know, I didn’t want to get in trouble for being here, I just wanted to come here to help,” I said again. I know he doesn’t want to hear this, but it's the truth and well I know Rebecca could used the help. “I just thought Rebecca could use the help.”

“Clock in, but I don’t want you working into the evening, I will have to come back after my meeting and do this.” he frowned. “But I rather do it than have you here alone because I know Rebecca isnt going to come and make sure things work out.”

“I’m sorry that I did this.” I sighed. I didn’t want him mad at me because now he had to do this. But I didn’t know what else to do. “How did you know I didn’t clock in?”

“Well when I noticed you were here, I went and checked and saw that you didn’t clock in, and Rebecca said that you didn’t want to clock in because you knew you weren’t supposed to be here. I don’t want you to work for free, I don’t need you here at the moment, why don’t you go and get something to eat and come back when your shift starts, that what you and I can have someone on one time and I can show you the things that need to be done when the restaurant closes.” he smiled. “I mean I am sure you are new to the city, why don’t you go and check things out.”

I didn’t want to go and look at the city, I didn’t want to put myself out there but I know things are going to go south if I don’t do what he suggests. I don’t want him mad at me and if he wants to work with me and show me things then I guess that is something I am going to have to do.

“Are you sure?” I asked.

“Yes, I need to have a conversation with Rebecca about lying about things, but you don’t need to hide things from me. I am very smart and I will figure things out and you don't want to be on my bad side do you?”

Of course, I didn’t want to get on his bad side, and I was going to have to have words with Rebecca about trying to get me into trouble. I don’t know why she thinks I want to lose my job, but she needs to know that I didn’t do anything wrong and I was here to help her out but if she wants to play me against the Boss I am going to show her she is going to lose and there isnt much she can do about it.

“So I’ll come back then,” I said getting up.

Even though I am going to be weirded out by having him here, maybe it's going to be a good thing that we get to know each other so he can see that I am not one of those people that are going to screw him over, I don’t want him mad at me either.

“See you later.” he smiled with a slight wave.
