It had been years since the fourth shinobi war had started, and Naru's mask was failing her. Looking at the bright red moon, she only sighed. There was only one thing she could do, and that was to turn back the clock. Go back to the start, and rewrite everything she ever knew.

Hisakata Namikaze
Many things suggested something was wrong as she slowly returned to consciousness, the first being the sound of birds singing in the distance and the second was that she was no longer in any pain. The fourth shinobi war had dragged on through the years and she had lost most of her loved ones because of it. Naru groaned as she opened her eyes, blinking as she looked at the blue sky and felt a gentle breeze through her hair. Watching as it pushed the branches above her head, pushing herself up she looked around the clearing she was in. ‘Blue sky? Trees? Nature?’ she thought as stared, crossing her legs as she combed her hair with her fingers. Staring as she looked at the white locks, stared before dropping her hair looking at her lightened skin. Her skin was no longer tanned, her scars standing out more than they had a few hours ago. Naru’s seal had worked, how far into the past she had gone… well, she did not know, nor did she care. She was standing in a forest with trees and plant life, it was not broken upland dotted with bodies of the dead. The land was not scared by the battles that had been raging on it, despair was not thick in the air. It was still there, which meant she did not land in a time of peace. Knowing her luck, she would be surprised if she did. Naru walked over to the river to dip her toes into the water with a grin on her face. Once the water had settled, she looked at her face and stared. She was covered in blood and who knew what else, as if she had not bathed for years. Naru could bet that she did not smell any better than she looked. Her clothes could not be saved, but she had a few distinctive styles of clothing in one of her seals to blend into whatever era she found herself in. Hinata had helped her with gathering clothing, teaching her how to sew during breaks and they had gotten closer during the war, Naru could only wish she had started talking to her sooner. Pulling off her dirty orange jacket and shorts, along with her black shirt. She did not think she could look at the colour, in the same way, Obito/Tobi’s mask had been bright orange and he had been the reason Madara, and that awful woman had come back. He had killed her sensei, along with Gai. “Poor Lee,” she whispered walking into the river. Scrubbing her skin clean, scrubbing her skin red as if she could scrub away the war from her skin and her memories. Naru would be burning her old clothing as soon as she could, she did not need the consent reminders. Her nightmares would be enough of a reminder. Once clean, she put her hands on her seal. It would take some time before she could talk to Kurama again, he would be fusing with his past self and healing from the time travel seal. She hated the fact that she came back as a child, but it would be better than her first childhood. She was an orphan, and no one knew that the tailed beasts could be sealed into human beings, no one would be looking at her twice unless she had done something. “Freedom,” she said. Freedom to be herself, to be more than a tomboy prankster. “No more Naru Uzumaki, from now on I’m Hisakata Namikaze,” she said. “Sakura, if only you could come with me.” Sakura had been the safest of her friends to come with her, but she had not. For the simple fact that she had to stop the moon goddess’ army from breaking into the cave that she was preparing the seal in, Naru… Hisakata had been forced to activate it before anything could break-in and it meant that she was travelling back by herself. - Hisakata Namikaze- Hisakata walked in the forest looking around herself, she did not know what era she was in, and she had not found any clues to hint at the year. She had to remove herself from her first spot, she had allowed herself to sunbathe on a rock for a few hours to enjoy the sun on her skin. She hated the fact that the time travel seal removed pigment from her skin, hair and eyes leaving her feeling like she looked like Tobirama off all people. Who she was annoyed with… but respected, but she still wanted to kick him in the knee for treating the Uchiha Clan the way he had. Blinking, she caught herself before she landed on her bottom, staring at the figure as they ran past. Hisakata was going to have to be more careful, she could not risk being spaced out in the open. “I’m sorry,” he said, he froze when he looked at her. “Guess we both made the mistake of going off with the fairies,” Hisakata said. He reminded her of Gai and Lee… a bit, she did not know what she would do if he started wearing green and started shouting about youth. If she did, then, well… she did not know what she would do and there is a high chance she would either start bawling her eyes out or kick his ass till kingdom come. If that did not happen, she could put up with the strips. Not that she was any better than he was, wearing a simple dark blue kimono. “Is something the matter?” she asked. He had not moved a muscle in well over five minutes and she put her hands on her hip. “Hello? Hello, earth to the brown-haired moron. If this was how I looked back then, well, no wonder he called me an idiot.” With a huff, she pushed him into the river she had been following for the last few hours. It worked with Sasuke when they were both children… so she was quite sure it would work with him. “Huh?” he asked. “It’s just like I feared,” she said. “How?” “I pushed you.” “I know that.” “You were gone.” Hisakata hated being ignored, it made her feel like that little child in the village as everyone walked past her, ignoring the fact that she was cold and hungry. “Hashirama, my name is Hashirama,” he said getting out of the lake, holding out his hand for her to take. “It’s nice to meet you.” “It’s nice to meet you, Hashirama,” she said smiling. She was back in the warring era, just before the village had been built by the i***t in front of her. Now she knew for sure that she could not trust anything anyone told her. “I’m Hisakata Namikaze… you might want to get dry, others you’re going to catch your death.” “You’re the one who pushed me.” “Sure… you wouldn’t happen to know where we are by chance?” “Naka River. Why?” “Bit lost.” “Is anyone with you? Parents? Siblings? Friends?” Hashirama asked. “Don’t have any, I’m an orphan. Made up my last name cause people look at me funny if I don’t give them one,” Hisakata admitted. She blinked when Hashirama dropped to the ground, hugging his knees as a black cloud hung itself over his small form. “Do you have bipolar? Or is this a one-time deal?” Hashirama stared at her, then started laughing. “Is something funny?” she asked. She had a feeling that he would be a hard one to keep up with in the last minute he was muttering apologies and the next he was laughing to the point where his rib muscles had to be protesting. Looking around the bank, she wondered if she could find a decent rock and throw it at his head or take what Sakura had taught her and punch him into a tree. Instead, she crossed her arms and waited for him to finish, wasn’t she thoughtful? “You live by yourself?” he asked. “I do,” she replied. “How long?” “Mum died when I was born.” “Your father?” “He died shortly afterwards, no one could tell me much about them.” Hisakata knew she was covering her backside, knew she looked like a Senju and an Uzumaki. Knew it was safer too with ignorance than have someone accuse her of lying down the road. “I know,” Hashirama said. “Friends?”
