Sold

Rosalie I sat silently on the cold, dirty tiled floor. Listening to the cries of some of the new girls who were being led into the room. They were what the guards referred to as fresh meat. They were young, still children that had been torn away from their families and brought to this hell hole to be sold. This was once me, I had only just turned 11 when I was brought here for the first time. Since the Lycans had taken over the human world we were forced to go into hiding, we were luckier than most as my father had good knowledge of the area having lived here all his life. He knew of a small bunker deep in the forest where he use to play as a child. It was cold and dark but my mother did her best to make it as homely as she could for me and my brother. This is where all my childhood memories were made, I barely remember our old house, I was too young to remember what it was like to live a normal life before the takeover. The day we were found was one of the scariest things I had ever encountered. My brother and father had just come back from hunting, but they must have been followed. I remember sitting on my small cotbed with my mother as she read me a story, we heard the latch open, it had to of been father coming back. But he never came down the ladder, it was someone else, someone that shouldn't have been there. I'm not too sure what happened after that as my mother put the blanket over me and told me to stay quiet. I heard her crying, pleading with the man to leave us alone, she bargained with him offering him food and shelter in exchange for his silence. She screamed and it sounded like she was struggling to breathe, I was too scared to look, crying I held on tightly to the blanket so I wasn't found praying the stranger would just leave us alone. Then it was just quiet like I had been left alone, where did she go? The next thing I knew I woke up in a wooden cage. I wasn't alone, there must have been at least a dozen others around me all filled with young girls around my age. I never knew what happened to my family, were they still alive? Did they have to go hide somewhere else? and did they ever look for me? These were just some of the questions I asked myself each and every day. A loud bang echoed around the room as two men entered. They were the same two men that had always been here, they were the ones in charge of taking the girls to the stage. I had nicknamed them chunky and stumpy as one was larger and the other had only one hand leaving an odd-looking stump at the end of his hand. "Stand!" The larger man ordered as he stood in front of the younger girls, his voice booming through the room making them fearful even more than they already were. I never did hear either of them talk that much in fact they looked just as miserable as some of us girls, still, they were very scary looking which meant nobody ever disobeyed them. Slowly the girls staggered to their feet, the chains made it hard for them as they were connected in rows of five. It was always the younger ones to go out first, these were quick cheap sales usually, the people in the mills brought them as workers or some wealthy people who wanted them to work. Then it was the older women they were a little more expensive as they were more useful around the house. They cooked, cleaned, kept on top of maintenance, and most importantly did everything in their power to please their masters. Then there were the girls I was with, we were the ones that brought the money in for the filthy pigs that ran this establishment. We were now young women, between the ages of 18 and 25. We were sold mainly as breeders, human women were the ones that would carry the babies for the Lycans. It became known that a female couldn't carry the Lycan gene and turn like the men could so the only women who lived amongst the cursed men were human women, they were there for a purpose and then disposed of when they were no longer needed. It was my ninth time here, I knew how things worked. I never stayed in one place for too long. I struggled taking orders from these men, was it wrong of me to believe we were worth so much more than this? I knew how to piss off my masters and never in a million years was I going to let anyone force me to do anything against my will. It wasn't long before it was our turn, stumpy came back through the double doors and grunted at the girl in front of my line. Pulling her chain into the air with his one good hand he lifted her to her feet. We all got up and followed him through the doors, the smell of alcohol hit me almost immediately as we walked past the door to the stage. Cheers and laughter could be heard from the other side, they came from the excited Lycan men waiting to bid on a woman to fill their beds tonight. Stumpy stood aside and pointed inside the room ahead, this was where we were made to look and smell our best making sure we l we were good enough for the drunken men to keep their paddles in the air. One by one older women appeared with trays of makeup applying powder and lipstick to the girls. "You again" The old red headed woman stood in front of me with her hands on her hips. "The one and only" I smiled as I watched her drop the beauty products back onto a tray behind her, I had been here enough for her to know I hated that crap all over my face, it stunk! "What did you do this time Rosalie?" she raised her brows and shook her head exhaling loudly as she began opening a small bottle of perfume. I placed my hand on my heart "Mary Jane why would you think it was my fault, I'm innocent" I asked playfully acting shocked. She dabbed a little perfume on either side of my neck "That's what you said the last five times, you forget I know you too well by now, you my girl are far from innocent. I thought master Tom would have welcomed you, he seemed nice" I shrugged my shoulders "What can I say? They were morons, and Master Tom wasn't the problem. It was his brat of a son Eric, the entitled selfish prick who didn't know how to keep his hands to himself" "They are all selfish pricks my girl, but you know as well as I do, you are of an age now where they expect things from you. Please don't go pissing off the wrong person else next time you might not even make it back here" She said quietly making sure nobody else was listening. "Death can take me whenever it chooses, unlike this life, I would welcome it with open arms" I sighed. I heard the usual grunt from Stumpy again as he started pulling us back out the door, "Nice seeing you again MJ" I smiled. "Please be safe" She whispered as the chains around my wrists began to pull me in the opposite direction. It was finally our time to go on stage. We made our way back down the corridor and to the stage door, chunky was already there holding the door open for us to walk through. I copied the girl ahead of me as she began to walk up the steps, the bright lights were blinding as we lined up on the stage. Chunky and Stumpy stood in front of us inspecting the way we were stood, Chunky came to the girl beside me and lifted her chin up then stepped in front of me. "Stand straight" he ordered as he pushed my shoulders back. I shrugged his dirty hands off of me "Do one Porky" I scowled at him, he never argued back he simply rolled his eyes as a low growl rattled through his chest. As he left it gave me the opportunity to look out into the crowd, I was surprised to see alot of new faces. I only knew a handful of Lycans here Master Tom and his son Eric were the most recent ones that brought me back here. When Master saw me he just rolled his eyes and looked away but his son Tom was obviously still pissed at me as he saw me he lifted his hand and gave me the finger. I couldn't help but laugh then I did the one thing I knew would piss him off, I blew him a kiss which he seemed disgusted with as he screwed up his face got up from his seat, and took his empty glass to the bar behind him. We all stood silently as the Auctioneer began introducing us, he stood with the girl closest to him and began reading from his cards in his hands. All eyes were fixated on her and it wasn't long before paddles were in the air and the bidding was underway. I kept my eyes fixed on the bar in front of me, I didn't want to show how nervous I secretly was as I wondered what fate had in store for me this time. I had to remain strong, these bastards weren't ever going to break me. The auctioneer made it to the girl beside me, the crowd was becoming excited and laughter echoed around the room as the men won their prizes. I noticed there were four men sitting just to the left of the stage, they seemed alot more composed than the rest of the room, all dressed in fancy attire. Three of the men were talking amongst themselves but one of them had his eyes on me, he laid back in his seat as he held onto his glass on the table, he was a very good looking man built like a greek god, but his aura seemed extremely intimidating, I bet he was quite frightening at times. He was one of them, a Lycan. I could tell by the sheer size of him, his chiseled jawline, and his perfect skin, his eyes never left me, I tried to look away but each time I looked back he was still watching me his dark eyes moving up and down my body, A cold breeze traveled through my body I shivered as I felt goosebumps coming up all over my skin. "Sold for £650.000" The auctioneer shouted as he slammed his hammer down onto the desk in front of him making me jump. Chunky came over and unlocked the chains from around her wrists, dropping them to the floor he pulled the girl behind him and walked her off of the stage. I took a deep breath knowing it was my turn once again, I tried to focus on something in the room, anything just to take my attention off of the man that was looking my way. The auctioneer came and stood beside me pulling his desk along that was on four small wheels. "Next is a Rosalie, she seems to be a regular here these days" he laughed as one of the men shouted my name, he looked down at his cards reading a little he looked back up at me shaking his head. "I will start the bidding off at £50.000, she may need some training, well let's say guidance in her new home," he said screwing the card up in his hand, it was master Tom that had filled it out on my behalf, as we parted on bad terms I knew there wasn't going to be anything good written on it so the auctioneer was once again winging it for me. I kept my eyes on the crowd watching as men began holding their paddles in the air, but I couldn't focus on them. I could still feel the strange man's eyes on me from before, I quickly glanced back in his direction to see if he was still looking my way, this time I was shocked to see all four men that were sitting around the small table with him were looking at me. "£200,00.000 going once" the bidding was ending, great I didn't see who had the winning bid. Who was going to be the next i***t to send me back here, I looked around the room to see who it could have been but I couldn't make them out. "500" my eyes darted across the room to see who the new bidder was that was offering well over the odds for me. "Sold" the auctioneer slammed his hammer down before they had time to retract their offer. "f**k!" I cursed to myself as I saw the greek god with his paddle in the air.
