Did Leigh just permit me to touch her? Yet the moment I reached out for her, just to hold her hand and nothing else, I felt Leigh stiffen. It was like all her blood went to her face, her almond eyes went round, her heart seemed to stop beating, and when it started pumping again, she startled me by jumping out of the bathtub.
“W-w-what did I just say? Oh my God!” She stuttered, and when her phone rang again, her feet seemed to get stuck on the floor, so she couldn’t walk back toward the bathtub. After a few seconds, she turned her back on me and started screaming as she walked out the door.
