(CALLIE POV) I stepped away from the window, propping my leg on a stone that had been meticulously carved to enhance the exterior of the building. Walking sideways with my face pressed against the wall, I mimicked the movements of a mountain climber navigating a steep rocky surface. I was no longer inside the house, but I had not yet reached the ground level. I remained at the window level, careful not to miss my step. The darkness provided some cover, making it difficult to notice me. However, I knew that the guards, with their heightened senses, could still potentially spot me even in the dark.
