Epilogue-New Business
The trial was quick and painless. I testified that I could find no proof of any illegal dealings at Kobayashi Motors or with Taka or his father. I presented the proof of Ken’s dealings to the court and he was sentenced to five years.
It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be to walk away from my job. I knew that some people thought I was involved with Taka and covering for him. But I couldn’t honestly prove that he’d done anything wrong. Maybe his father had done some things but he was either very good at hiding, or they were both clean. In any event, I didn’t want any more part of the whole thing.
Taka was waiting for me at his penthouse when my meeting was over.
“Well?”
“I’m out,” I said quietly.
“Just like that?”
“Just like that.” I sighed. “So-”
He pulled me into his arms. “So we can begin our lives now?”
I wrapped my arms around his neck. “I’d like that.” I leaned forward and kissed him gently. “I love you,” I murmured. “I can’t believe I’m here with you.”
Taka smiled. “Let me show you just how real it is.” His hands slid down my back to cup my hips, bringing our naked flesh together.
I couldn’t help but gasp as he lifted me, sliding inside me easily. I tightened my arms and legs around him as he began to move inside me. We stared into each other’s eyes as we climbed higher and higher together. It was the hottest thing I’d ever done.
Taka groaned and pressed hard into me. His eyes fluttered closed and he hugged me closer.
“I love you,” he whispered. “I never want to let you go.”
“I don’t want you to,” I whispered back.
Taka.
