Chapter 1 No wars until I graduate

942 Words
Anna’s P.O.V   I was carrying way too many books to my next class and I almost dropped them, but it was my own fault because I should have known how many classes I actually had today. I thought I had three classes today, when in actual fact I only had one. Thankfully I was almost done with college, but I still had to do my finals and if I aced them then I would graduate. Although I had promised my family that I would go to college for a year, it turned out to be six years. I thought back to everything that had led to this point in my life and it had been almost six years since I had been hunted, met my mate and killed Jessica, who I had once considered my friend, but had been turned into a vampire and tried to kill me, but a lot of other, happier things had happened since then too. Although when my mom and I had originally visited the campus and dorms when I was first accepted to this college, I had decided to stay in the dorm then, but after meeting my mate William and everything we both went through, I decided that I felt safer and a lot more comfortable being at home, that and the fact that I didn't want to leave William. Besides, college was only ten miles away, so it wasn't a problem to drive there, do my classes and come back home afterwards. When I was at home my time was filled with studying, spending time with my family and my mate. William and I had talked about having kids, but because we were still getting to know one another, our different quirks and what we both liked and disliked and I also wanted to finish college first, so we both agreed that we would wait.    My parents still surprised me with how much they loved each other and just by watching them together you could see that my dad was still in love with my mom, if not more so than the first day they met. My grandfather Hawk, grandma Faith and little cousin, Angel came by once or twice a month to visit and spend time with us, making my mom and dad very happy. Well, technically Angel wasn't my cousin, she was my aunt, but because she was so young I called her my cousin. My dad’s Beta, Trevor and his mate Goldie were still going strong and just over five years ago they welcomed two little twin boys into the world which they named Chris and Carl, who are extremely mischievous and like to prank everyone, just like I did when I was their age, but the thing that no one else knows is that I sometimes help them with their pranks. Sometimes I get scared that I’m going to wake up and all of it would have been a dream, that there was no hunt and I never met William, but the nightmares that I sometimes have remind me that I didn't dream any of it and I was now happily living my life. Amber and Cody were away visiting their kids Bubba and Daisy, who had both met their mates and we were all happily surprised that their mates were from the same pack, but the sad thing was that it was over a day’s drive away from us. I still saw Toby and our friendship was stronger than ever, he and his mate Shelly were great together and they still came around to see me and hang out. I had been thinking about the past so much lately, but it was also helpful because it reminded me to be grateful for what I had, but it was also a pain in the ass because it distracted me. Today's class had flown by and I had left the campus and just returned home, but when I got there I overheard my dad and William talking in his office. I stood back a bit and listened to what they were talking about because if they were talking in there and the door was closed, then I knew it was about something serious. As soon as I heard the words rogue’s invading someone's territory I knew I would have to step in and talk to them. I walked inside without knocking and watched as William looked up at me in surprise.   Mercury’s P.O.V   “Dad, can you not have any wars at least until I graduate? I only have two days to study and then do my exams, so if I have this peace I’ll be able to graduate and then I can help doctor Cloud in the pack hospital.” Anna said as I looked up from the computer screen and smiled at her.    “Of course, honey, but we aren't going to war. The rogues have been trying to invade territory, but don't worry we'll take care of it after you graduate.” I replied and she nodded.   “Okay then, well, if you are done with my mate now, I would like to spend some time with him before I study and pass out for the evening.” Anna said and I shook my head as I looked at William.   “Go now, before my daughter decides she is going to kick my butt for keeping you in here for too long.” I said, chuckling as William left with Anna. I leaned back in my chair, just as the office door opened again.
