Jenny tenses beside me as we hear her friends mention the Alpha. From her reaction to the things my men and I just told her about Knox, I believe that she’s been taken in by his lies like so many have. She sees only the face he wants the world to see, not the man behind it. If I can convince her that every word we’ve said is true, maybe she’ll stop trying to protect him. More and more, I’m sure that she knows something that would be valuable to us, if we can just convince her that we’re not the ones to be afraid of.
However, all of that is put on pause while we wait to hear what our surveillance picks up.
