We’re watching the tracking dot from the men we released as they reach the main highway, and as I expect, they turn right to head back through the pass. They’re on their way to report to Knox in person, so it looks like I was right that there’s a lot more to their story than what they told us.
They haven’t said much yet, other than when one of them asked the other if he ‘felt it come back’. They both confirmed they had and expressed their relief about it, but neither I nor the others in the room have any idea what they were talking about.
I’ve got my mouth open to ask Kelvin and Joel to keep me updated while I go and make some other calls, when my ears pick up the sound of a car door closing, followed immediately by an engine starting up.
