Chapter Two
For several days, Phoebe spent her time cleaning. At night, she would read any book she could find in the house until she fell asleep. Early in the morning one day, she woke to the sound of a rooster. Sitting up quickly, she caught sight of it outside of her window. At the same time, a sudden wave of nausea hit her body. Rushing to the bathroom, she threw up. She leaned back against the sink and cursed her luck. Already, she was in such an odd position. Now she had to add the flu to the list of her ailments.
A couple hours passed and Phoebe started to feel a little better. The loneliness of her country life was too much, so she walked into a nearby village and went to a restaurant. An old man waved her in merrily and she ordered a simple dinner. Watching people coming and goi
