Moan royals

1566 Words
Lily The following day, I am woken up to a full English breakfast in bed by my very sexy fake boyfriend. “You did not have to,” I tell him when he places the tray of food on the next to me. “But I must, My Lady. What kind of man does not pamper his woman?” “Fake girlfriend,” I correct and avoid his mischievous expression. He said that on purpose to test me. “This is delicious. Thank you.” “I did not make it,” he point out with that smile. “I know, I still appreciate the gesture. No one has ever brought me breakfast in bed before. Food, period, besides you.” “Looks like I am winning this boyfriend challenge. Happy belated Christmas, gorgeous.” My eyes widen when he places a nicely wrapped present next to me. I have never received a present. Paul had means, but he never gifted me anything, now that I think about it. “You really did not have to.” “I wanted to. It is more for me, really. My family will be joining soon, and I want my girlfriend looking hot.” I raise mu eyebrows questioningly and he starts stuttering. “Not that you are not hot, you are just simple gorgeous. Like, you don’t even wear make-up, and you look like a runway model.” I can’t help but laugh. “You don’t have to explain yourself. Thank you. I am afraid I did not get you anything.” “You have. By you being here, you have no idea just how much you have helped me.” I doubt his words, but I don’t try to argue. I am speechless when I see what he got me. “Do you like it?” “Oh, my word, Vince. I love it! I am going to bath and try it on.” Thirty minutes later, I emerge from the bathroom feeling like a million dollars. This dress Vince got me fits me so perfectly you would swear that he knew my size. He seems frozen on a spot when I come out. “What do you think?” “Wow!” he mimes. “You are graceful, classic, mesmerizing. I would be convinced that you were an angel had you put on some wings. Wait, can angels remove or hide their wings?” he asks and check behind me while I giggle. “You are breathtaking, My Lady.” I curtsy. “Thank you. You might just be the best make belief boyfriend I have ever had.” “Oh, I am.” “Modesty is a virtue, Mister.” A few minutes later, the ship docks at the Noan Islands. I am looking forward to exploring this one too, but Vince does not sound so keen. I am ready, wearing the dress he gifted me, but he has not even bathed yet. “You will find me outside,” I shout out when he disappears in his cabin for over thirty minutes. Maybe he will hurry if he knows that I am waiting outside the ship. I am disappointed when I get to the ground floor and discover that there will be no exploring Noan Islands. I don’t know what the delay was during the night because we are running behind the normal schedule. The captain has informed everyone that we will only pick up the passengers, but no one gets to explore the island this time around. Just my luck. The only time I actually have company to show me around, this happens. I am heading back up when a strong hand roughly grabs me. “I thought I told you to get off at Jeffee Island, you wretched child. I am not paying for you,” my father, or rather, Jerry, grits his teeth. I yank my hand away from him. My skin is already red where he grabbed me. “You don’t have to,” I say slowly while glaring at him. He can’t possibly disown me and still abuse me. His wife scans me from head to toe with her nose up. “Where did you even get that dress?” “None of your business,” I grit my teeth. “I would not be so proud and cocky if I were you. Where are you going to get the money to pay for all of this?” Bianca asks, with her nose still up. I guess she does not have to pretend to like me when the Smiths are not around. “I am no longer your problem. How about you both mind your own business?” I snap, right when Vince shows up and loosely places his arm around my neck. “Hey, sorry I got held up,” he says while gazing at my eyes and completely ignoring my former family. “No wonder you are so cocky, you found yourself Santa,” Jerry sneers, disgust written all over his face. I really can’t believe that this man is my father. I let out a sigh when Phoebe and Paul join us. They also scan me from head to toe. “That was fast. Not even a day has passed since we disowned you from the family, and you are already prostituting yourself,” Phoebe jumps in. I seriously can’t believe how I got so unlucky to be related to these people. “Just like that w***e mother of yours. You are so shameless!” Jerry spits out in disgust. “You must love prostitutes then if I am here. How much did you pay to impregnate one?” I hit back. His whole face turns red and shake with anger. I don’t know anything about my mother, just the curses about her. It is as if she impregnated herself with his sperm while he was just an innocent family-oriented guy. “Is this the thanks we get for raising you? Such an ungrateful child!” Bianca cries while Phoebe scans us from head to toe again with her nose up. Vince looks so hot, just being so close to him makes my heart race. I am also enjoying Paul’s every expression. “Enjoying staying in the ship dock and eating left over food?” Phoebe sneers. I frown at that. This girl is an airhead. “What are you on about, Phoebe?” “Oh, don’t pretend, Dear. That gown does not fool anyone. It may look sophisticated, but we all know that you can never afford the real one,” she says, and I can sense jealousy in those words. This is the first store bought gown I now own. I don’t care if it is fake or not, I just love it. I know that I look good in it because Vince told me so and I received several compliments from other passengers earlier. I roll my eyes at Phoebe and Vince chuckles before wrapping his arms around my waist. “You really are better off without these materialistic, superficial pretenders. Definitely good riddance. Well done,” he declares, while Paul’s jaw clenches and finally breaking his silence. “Don’t be so cocky. You are only here as the ship’s Santa. You obviously can’t afford any of this. We basically pay your salary and can get you fired,” he sneers and threatens. “Argh, don’t waste your energy on them, Honey,” Phoebe says and rests her head on Paul’s chest. I don’t know if that is meant to make me jealous, but I feel nothing. “Enjoy real poverty, ungrateful bastard,” she adds, and I have no words to respond to that. “Silence in the ship as we welcome the Noan royal family who will be with us for the rest of tour,” the captain’s voice booms on the speakers right before royal guards walk in and scan the ship. I am taken aback when a few of them stand right next to us. “Smith enterprises headquarters are in Noan. Paul’s family works a lot with the Noan royals. You, peasants should do yourselves a favor and move back. You don’t want to offend the royals with your stinky presence,” Phoebe brags behind us. “They would not be royalty if they were so vain and superficial,” Vince tells her. “Maybe I should tell them that and see your sorry ass get executed,” Paul threatens while Vince smirks at him. “You are not as important as you think, Loser. I bet the royals don’t even know who you are. You are just speck of dust amongst multitudes of sand pebbles.” Paul is now furious and even threatening to get the King of Noan to chase us out of the ship. Apparently, his father is the king’s closest friend. “Look at me, I am so scared. Forgive me, Master Paul, friend of the Noan King,” Vince is now making fun of Paul’s threat, and I can’t suppress my laughter. I am going to get executed with this man one of these days. We are still laughing at Paul when the king and queen walk in with and old lady behind them. “Vincent of Noan!” the queen exclaims, not impressed, while my pretend boyfriend moves forward to embrace them.
