Nobody wants you around,” Ruby hissed to him, narrowing her icy eyes in his direction. “He insisted that we came here,” Amanda, who was leaning against the lockers, said while rolling her eyes. “I just want to talk to—” he began to say until his eyes finally found mine. “Tessa!” I glanced back at the closed door to Joseph’s classroom before looking at Brian with wide and alarmed eyes. “Just let me talk to you for a minute,” Brian said, stumbling towards me. I stared up at him with a frown. I could smell the alcohol on his breath. “Brian, what are you doing here?” I asked, folding my arms across my chest. “I want to explain myself,” he said, lowering his tone. “Tessa, you know I love you more than anything.
