Carol’s POV
“What are they even doing here?” I ask, turning to face Aiden.
“I don’t know,” Aiden says, his eyes never leaving Daniel. Neither of them notices us yet, which I’m grateful for. If all goes well, neither will notice us the entire time. “I thought she got fired?”
“Technically she was forced to resign,” I say, folding my arms across my chest. I feel aggravated and annoyed that they are at my event. “At this point, I’m surprised Zach didn’t show up too.”
“What could they even want at a hockey banquet?” Aiden asks.
“Who knows,” I murmur.
“Carol, it’s good to see you again,” I hear from behind me and my entire body freezes at the sound. I didn’t even realize they were walking towards us and from the scowl on Aiden’s face, he didn’t either.
I turn to see Daniel with Soph
