Rose stood in front of the mirror, smoothing down the wrinkles in her light yellow sundress. She hadn’t talked to Xavier the entire week, deciding to spend time with her aunt. Her eyes flitted to the bank card on her dresser before she replayed the events of last night's dinner (with a conspicuously absent Xavier).
Flashback
“Xavier’s busy with patrolling the perimeter. He won’t be having dinner with us tonight. A lot to do before he leaves for the capital. Oh Rose, he also wanted me to give you this.” Josie reached across the table, handing Rose a platinum bank card.
“What is this?” Rose asked in awe.
