Chapter 25

963 Words
Farrell's POV I look at the man who has a dangerously close resemblance to Aylee. The way he looks, the way he is scanning everything, the way he is just merely standing reminds me of Aylee. As I walk closer to him, I catch his scent. He smells like smoke and Ash. Not the scent I caught on Aylee. But still, I maintain my calm as I reach him. "Good evening, Alpha Farrell" he bows to me and I look at Sebastian, who only shrugs back. "Good evening, Felix" I say that made him stand on his legs again. "I have heard so much about you. It feels really an honor to even be in your presence," Felix says. He is getting excited for absolutely no reason. I mean, his daughter is out there protecting her pack and he is here, praising me? Something is definitely fishy. "Felix, how about we sit in my tent and have a chat," I smile at him and he looks greatly delighted. I show him the way and ask him to walk first so I can quickly mindlink Sebastian. "Send Alpha Aylee a message that her father is here" I mindlink him and he nods before walking away. Felix and I sit in my tent and I offer him some water. He politely declines. I sit before him and cannot help but stare into his eyes and see Aylee instead of him. "Your daughter looks so much like you," I smile at him. And notice his smile falters a little. "Yes. I've been told that many times," he says with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "She is fierce. It would be shameful that I am saying this out loud, but no one gave me a fight like your daughter did. She is a fighter," I tell him again and this time he stops smiling altogether. "If only she were a son," he whispers and I don't know why it pains me to hear that. "Why are you here, Felix?" I ask him because now I am more than curious to know the reason behind his arrival. I don't think he is here to ask me to marry his daughter or to collect information for Aylee. His face says things that he never said out loud, and it's evident. "I can give you a route map to the pack. All the secret entry routes and the exit gates. I can give it all," he says. Now that is something I didn't expect to hear from him. He looks dead serious as he says that. If he wasn't serious, I would have killed him right here and right now. But now that I know what exactly he meant, I think the decision should be Aylee's not mine. "Why would you do so?" I ask him again and he looks me in the eye this time. He looks a lot like her, I cannot even focus on what he is saying. I haven't seen someone born with such strong genes until now. Everyone I came across told me that I was a perfect blend of my parents. "Because packs are meant to be ruled by Alphas," he tells me. And he looks at me dead in the eye as he says so. "And your pack is being run by an Alpha too. Your daughter. Alpha Aylee," I tell him and I am even starting to wonder why no one from The Moon Set Pack has come to take him from here already. "No. Because Alphas are meant to be men. Aylee is not," he says and at this point I really want to squish his throat and throw him outside. I don't know if it's the mate bond making me talk this way or the way he is belittling his own daughter, but I know for one thing that I hate this man here. If he wasn't Aylee's father he would be dead already. Just when I was thinking of her, her scent hits me. I look at Felix and his eyes go wide as well. He understood that she's walking towards us too. We both look towards the entrance of my tent and indeed, Aylee is standing there. Her eyes full of disappointment as she is looking at her father. But Felix only has disgust at the way he is looking at his daughter. I clench my fist, ready to punch him. But I resist the urge and leave it to Aylee who is now walking towards her father. "Please. Get back to the pack," she says to her father. "And why the f**k should I listen to you? You never listen to me," he spat at her and she closed her eyes for a few seconds. When she opens, I see that she is trying to get a hold on all the rage she is feeling inside her. "I am asking you again. Please get back home. Let's talk there," she says again and Felix looks at me. "This isn't over. We'll have another chat again soon," he smiles at me and stands up. The smile that vanishes again as soon as his eyes land on Aylee. I stand up and walk towards Aylee, now that it's just us in this tent. And I catch the scent again. It smells like oakmoss. It's not her beta. It's not her father either. As far as I know, I haven't heard anyone say she has a brother. "Thanks," she whispers, bringing me back to reality and I look at her. She is talking about something again but all I can focus right now, is who this person that she is often meeting. To a point their scent is all over her. Is there another one in my story?
