WHEN she arrived at Grayson’s hospital room, she found him sleeping and Ace, his manager, is the one looking after him.           “How is he?” Kaylee asked.           “Doctor said he can discharge tomorrow, but they prevent him from working and demand a full rest.”           She nodded. “That’s good. He needs that, he’s such a workaholic.”           “Kaylee?”           “Hmm?”           “Thank you for coming back in his life.”           She smiled. For a moment, she thought Ace is thanking her for coming back from death.           “To be honest, I actually had no plans of coming back to him. I mean, not this soon.”           “Why is that?”           She shrugged her shoulders. “I have my reasons.”           Ace looked at Grayson who is sleeping soundlessly on the hospital bed.           “I haven’t saw him sleep so well for a long time. Sleeping has become a lot harder for him to do ever since you left.”           “Really? I didn’t know that. I thought he’s better without me. I mean, remember how he shut down all of us and didn’t talk?” she answered.            “He regrets that a lot. Grayson thought it was the reason why you suddenly disappeared. He tried his best to find you. He asked your father where he can find you but he didn’t tell him. Grayson became so devastated. And out of desperation, he even hired a private investigator just for him to find you. He’s having a hard time after his broke up with Aira. He had some mental health issues and he’s finding someone whom he can lean on and you’re the only one that he thought. And he blamed himself over again when he can’t find you. That’s why when you accidentally met him on that restaurant. I saw the old Grayson, the optimistic young man, the one who always happy and smiles a lot.”           Kaylee smile sadly. How can she forget that day? She can still remember how Grayson hugged her and held her so tight while crying. From that day, he made sure she will not go anywhere without him knowing. He always checks on her and ask her where she is. And that moment, Kaylee felt that their relationship with each other level up. Like for once, she felt that Grayson treats her differently they he did before she left. And the words she heard from him still lingers on her memories until this very day.           “Where have you been all this time? Do you know how much I looked for you? I really thought I won’t be able to see you again! God, I thought I’d already lost you.”           “Please don’t go anywhere again. He needs you more than anyone, Kaylee. He might completely break down this time if you leave him.”           Tears started to filled her eyes. If she can only stay, she would, but what lies on her future is not on her hands. How will she tell him that she’s already dead and only has thirty-one days to confess and finish her mission? How will she tell him that for the second time, she will leave him again?           Kaylee immediately look away when Grayson woke up and wiped her tears.           “You’re here again,” she heard him said.           She gave him a sweet smile. “Why? You didn’t want me to come over?”           Grayson didn’t answer, instead look at Ace.           “Ace, can you get me something eat? I’m hungry.”         Kaylee immediately get the paper bag. “Actually, I brought you your favorite comfort food.”           “You know my comfort food?”           She walks towards the bed and pull the overbed table and smiled at her. “Chicken rice porridge with lots of garlic, spring onions and pepper, plus tofu and pork with soy sauce and vinegar and bean sprouts spring rolls, am I right?” she answered.           Grayson paused for a while and looked at the food in front of her.           “Yeah, you’re right… but how did you—”           “We know everything about each other, Gray. Even what you like and dislike in food.”           “That’s how close we are?”           She nodded and gave him the spoon. “Now, eat it before it gets cold. You don’t want your food cold.”           Again, he remained speechless. There’s a little confusion written on his face. And while eating and she’s tidying the whole room. She can see from the corner of her eyes that he’s following her every moves.           “Gray, I’ll just leave for a while. I have to meet someone about your other endorsement.”           “Okay.”           For the second time around, the two of them left alone on that room.           “Are you sure we’re just best friend? I mean, aren’t you my ex-girlfriend or did we date or something?”           Kaylee stopped what her doing and look back at him. Then, she smiled sadly.           “No. I wasn’t your type.”           He didn’t respond after that. She didn’t say anything other than that as well and just continue cleaning the room. After a while…           “Um… I… I’m done,” he said a bit hesitantly.           She smiled when she saw the dishes empty. “See? It’s your favorite. I’m happy to see you eating so well.”           “The food was good.”           After she put away the dishes and clean the overbed table. She took out a photo album from her bag and gave it to him.           “Here. Inside are the photos from us together. We took those photos over the years of our friendship. This album serves as our journal together. That’s the strong evidence of who and what am I in your life in case you’re still having doubts.”           Grayson just look at him.           “I’ll just buy something on the nearby convenience store. I’ll be back immediately.”                     IT’S BEEN around four hours since Kaylee came to the hospital. It also has been that long Grayson is looking at the photo album. He’s turning pages after pages and stare at their photos over again. Then, he will hit his head with his hands or grabbed his own hair.           “That’s enough, you’ve been looking at this album for hours now. Don’t push yourself too hard, you will remember me in time, your memories about me will come back on its own,” she said and snatched the photo album away from him.           She was about to walk away when Grayson suddenly grab her wrist.           “What if my memories about you did not come back?”           Kaylee sighed and sat at the edge of his hospital bed. “You will. I’m sure of that. You have too.”           Her eyebrows furrowed when Grayson’s eyes started to get teary. She immediately moved closer when those tears run down his face, she wiped it with her hands.           “Why are you crying?” she asked worriedly.           “Did I do something wrong with you in the past? Why do I feel like the heaven is punishing me? Why can’t I remember you? Why you’re the only one erased from my memories?! Please tell me if I did something wrong?”           Grayson sounded very frustrated and it’s crushing her whole being. Her heart felt so heavy seeing him having a hard time. And that’s all because of her. Until now, she can see the consequences of her sin. It was her who did bad to him, but why does it look like he’s suffering more than her?           Kaylee embraced him tight. “No. You didn’t do anything. None of this was your fault…” she answered.           “This is all my fault, Grayson,” she continued inside her head.           “I don’t understand but I feel scared. I felt so anxious when you’re not here. I’ll trust you. If we really are best friends, then I will trust you. I will rely on you. Just don’t go anywhere. I feel like I’m going crazy every time I think that part of my memories was erased.”           Kaylee sighed heavily and carefully tap his back. “Don’t worry, I’m always here beside you. I won’t leave you anymore,” she said.           “And even if I finish my mission and go to heaven. I will still look after you,” she continued inside her head.
